In my city, there are numerous foundations and individuals dedicated to animal rescue. Among the best known is Patitas de Amor (Little Paws of Love). This foundation organized an event last weekend, both Saturday and Sunday, in the central plaza of the Metropolis Shopping Center.
This shopping center allows pets, of course, with very specific rules. Pets are allowed in the mall itself, but not in the food court or clothing stores. The rules also state that if a pet causes damage to a store or the mall, the owner will be held responsible in all respects.
En mi ciudad, existen numerosas fundaciones y personas dedicadas al rescate de animales. Entre las más conocidas se encuentra Patitas de Amor. Esta fundación organizó un evento el pasado fin de semana, tanto el sábado como el domingo, en la plaza central del Centro Comercial Metrópolis.
Este centro comercial admite mascotas, por supuesto, con normas muy específicas. Se permite la entrada de mascotas al centro comercial, pero no al patio de comidas ni a las tiendas de ropa. Las normas también establecen que si una mascota causa daños en una tienda o en el centro comercial, el dueño será responsable en todos los sentidos.

The MetroPets event featured several activities. I visited briefly on Saturday; it was quite early, so there weren't many people. I saw that they had set up a space behind the main stage where people who brought dogs could keep their pets there, surrounded by their favorite things.
In that area, some members of the foundation were interviewing people interested in adopting a dog or cat. The goal was to determine if the person wanting to adopt was prepared to take on that responsibility.
Nearby, they had several kittens and puppies available for adoption.
El evento de MetroPets contó con varias actividades. El sábado lo visité rápidamente; era bastante temprano, así que no había mucha gente. Vi que habían habilitado un espacio detrás del escenario principal para que quienes trajeran perros pudieran tener a sus mascotas allí, rodeadas de sus objetos favoritos.
En esa zona, algunos miembros de la fundación entrevistaban a las personas interesadas en adoptar un perro o un gato. El objetivo era determinar si la persona que deseaba adoptar estaba preparada para asumir esa responsabilidad.
Muy cerca, tenían varios gatitos y cachorros disponibles para adopción.

In front of the main stage, there were several booths from brands and entrepreneurs. One was selling pet medications, another pet clothing, which was quite popular.
While I was watching the event, some guests went up on stage to talk about different topics. One spoke about pet care, and another woman gave a talk about coping with grief after the loss of a pet.
That day they also had a dance therapy class scheduled. I saw some women waiting for the class to start, but I couldn't stay because I had other things to do and had to leave.
Frente al escenario principal, había varios stands de marcas y emprendedores. Uno vendía medicamentos para mascotas, otro ropa para mascotas, algo que tuvo bastante éxito.
Mientras observaba el evento, algunos invitados subieron al escenario para hablar sobre diferentes temas. Uno habló sobre el cuidado de las mascotas y otra mujer dio una charla sobre cómo afrontar el duelo tras la pérdida de una mascota.
Ese día también tenían programada una clase de terapia de baile. Vi a algunas mujeres esperando a que comenzara la clase, pero no pude quedarme porque tenía otras cosas que hacer y tuve que irme.
