Trámites Legales Parte 1 - Registro de Nacimiento (Esp-Eng)

Hola chicos ¿Qué tal? Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una experiencia completamente nueva para mí, pero considero que importante.

Como he dicho antes, soy migrante, Venezolano, viviendo en Ecuador y por ende hay cosas que debo hacer, trámites, visas, prórroga de pasaportes entre otras que son necesarias para mi estadía legal en este país. Pero hace poco comencé un trámite totalmente nuevo y diferente.

Tengo tres hijos, el menor nació aquí en Ecuador, así que legalmente es Ecuatoriano por nacimiento, pero hace unos meses hubo una especie de Jornada Especial, donde los funcionarios del Consulado Venezolano, que está ubicado en Guayaquil, a un poco más de tres horas de dónde vivo, vinieron a Manta, una ciudad bastante cercana, así que aprovechamos mi esposa y yo para comenzar a tramitar la nacionalidad Venezolana de nuestro hijo menor.

Hey guys, what's up? Today I want to share with you a completely new experience for me, but I consider it important.

As I said before, I am a migrant, Venezuelan, living in Ecuador and therefore there are things I have to do, paperwork, visas, passport extensions among others that are necessary for my legal stay in this country. But recently I started a totally new and different procedure.

I have three children, the youngest was born here in Ecuador, so legally he is Ecuadorian by birth, but a few months ago there was a kind of Special Day, where the officials of the Venezuelan Consulate, which is located in Guayaquil, a little more than three hours from where I live, came to Manta, a city quite close, so my wife and I took the opportunity to begin to process the Venezuelan nationality of our youngest son.

Los papeles para iniciar el proceso de Registro de Nacimiento, con el cual le otorgan la nacionalidad Venezolana a mi hijo, lo iniciamos en Manta, en esa Jornada Especial, pero el lunes mi esposa y yo viajamos a la ciudad de Guayaquil, que es donde queda el Consulado cómo les dije, para la cita que teníamos.

Al llegar a esta ciudad, al inicio estuvimos un poco perdidos, ya que quien nos llevó, nos dejó dónde no era, pero rápidamente ubicamos el lugar. Hay un vigilante afuera que nos revisa y da acceso según el trámite que vayamos a realizar. Al ingresar, solo esperamos como 2 minutos en la sala de espera y fuimos inmensamente remitidos a la parte de arriba para realizar el trámite.

The papers to start the process of birth registration, which will grant Venezuelan nationality to my son, we started in Manta, in that special day, but on Monday my wife and I travelled to the city of Guayaquil, which is where the Consulate is, as I told you, for the appointment we had.

When we arrived in Guayaquil, at first we were a bit lost, as the person who took us there left us where we were not, but we quickly found the place. There is a guard outside who checks us and gives us access depending on the procedure we are going to carry out. When we entered, we only waited about 2 minutes in the waiting room and we were immensely forwarded to the upper part to carry out the procedure.

Al estar arriba, si habían otras personas, pero considero que el trámite fue rápido y más tardamos rectificando que todo estuviera correctamente escrito, más aún los datos de identificación y nombres. También tuvimos que firmar más de 7 hojas, colocar nuestras huellas y en mi caso, como mi esposa es de Nacionalidad Ecuatoriana por nacimiento, tuve que firmar una declaración especial.

Hemos visto en las redes sociales a algunos Venezolanos quejarse de las embajadas y consulados Venezolanos en los países donde están, pero realmente mi esposa y yo quedamos muy felices con la atención, fue rápida, fueron amables y esperamos lo que tarda en realizarse el trámite. Incluso conversaban con nosotros y oír tanta gente con tu mismo acento, hace que por instantes te sientas en casa.

When I was upstairs, there were other people, but I consider that the process was quick and it took us longer to make sure that everything was correctly written, especially the identification data and names. We also had to sign more than 7 sheets of paper, put our fingerprints and in my case, as my wife is Ecuadorian by birth, I had to sign a special declaration.

We have seen on social networks some Venezuelans complaining about the Venezuelan embassies and consulates in the countries where they are, but really my wife and I were very happy with the attention, it was fast, they were kind and we waited as long as it takes to complete the process. They even chatted with us and hearing so many people with the same accent as you makes you feel at home for a moment.

Una vez firmados los documentos y sellados, nuestro hijo menor es oficialmente Venezolano, ya posee la doble nacionalidad, es el menor y es el primero en hacer este proceso, por ser gratuito y mucho más fácil. También estamos agilizando hacer lo mismo con nuestras hijas mayores, pero a ellas darles la nacionalidad Ecuatoriana.

Creo que el hecho de que puedan tener doble nacionalidad les brinda más oportunidades, en el sentido de poder tener pasaporte y estar legal en ambos países, sin limitarse a que si quieren ir a otro país, hay algunos que a los venezolanos le piden más papeles o visas y ellos puedan tener acceso más pronto por tener la nacionalidad Ecuatoriana, que además es un derecho, por ser hijos de una Ecuatoriana y en el caso de mi hijo menor, por ser hijo de un Venezolano.

Once the documents have been signed and stamped, our youngest son is officially Venezuelan, he already has dual nationality, he is the youngest and is the first to go through this process, as it is free and much easier. We are also speeding up the process for our older daughters, but we are giving them Ecuadorian nationality.

I think that the fact that they can have dual nationality gives them more opportunities, in the sense that they can have a passport and be legal in both countries, without being limited to the fact that if they want to go to another country, there are some countries that ask Venezuelans for more papers or visas and they can have access sooner because they have Ecuadorian nationality, which is also a right, because they are the children of an Ecuadorian and in the case of my youngest son, because he is the son of a Venezuelan.

Por otra parte y aún cuando con las niñas si vamos a tener que invertir bastante dinero para legalizarlas y darles la nacionalidad, es una tranquilidad, no hay que estar pendientes de que se venza la visa, de que hay que renovar, de que si cambian alguna visa o ley con referente a los migrantes. Así que es un alivio. Que esperamos pronto compartir con ustedes, por eso esta es la primera parte de esta aventura.

Nos fácil estar ilegal en un país, los niños no tienen problemas por ser menos y existir convenios, pero para nosotros los adultos, es conveniente estar legales y con todo en regla para evitar problemas futuros y así también poder exigir nuestros derechos. Estar en este país me ha enseñado mucho y lo que más quiero es que podamos estar al día en todo.

On the other hand, and even though with the girls we will have to invest a lot of money to legalise them and give them nationality, it is a peace of mind, we don't have to worry about the expiry of the visa, about having to renew it, about whether they change any visa or law regarding migrants. So it is a relief. That we hope to share with you soon, so this is the first part of this adventure.

It is easy for us to be illegal in a country, the children have no problems because they are fewer and there are agreements, but for us adults, it is convenient to be legal and with everything in order to avoid future problems and also to be able to demand our rights. Being in this country has taught me a lot and what I want most is that we can keep up to date with everything.

Cabe destacar chicos, que es mi primera vez en el consulado, ya que mi prórroga del pasaporte también la retiré en una Jornada Especial, así que nunca había estado allí y fue un viaje que en cierta forma disfruté por la compañía de mi esposa y también nos acompañó la user Hive account@rosmeris21 quien fue a retirar la nacionalidad de su hijo, así que entre todos nos ayudamos.

It's worth noting that this is my first time at the consulate, as I also collected my passport extension on a special day, so I had never been there before and it was a trip that I enjoyed in a way because of the company of my wife and we were also accompanied by the user Hive account@rosmeris21 who went to collect her son's nationality, so we all helped each other out.
