Theres one thing that makes the Faculty of Law really interesting.
I guess without that, the faculty would be cold and filled with cases and boring law books.
You may not know and because i have insider information, i will be sharing this with you.
The secret ingredient to fun and innovation in the Faculty of Law is The CHAMBERS.
Every Faculty of Law has one.
Originally, a chambers is like a legal workspace where lawyers offer their services to clients.
Chambers in the university is like a replica of the real world chambers which focuses on the academic success of their members and training them to be the Lawyers of tomorrow.
Now i know you may be thinking, its still about academics so its boring but thats not it. The chambers give you an opportunity to connect and network with senior colleagues and senior lawyers you wouldn't have had access to. It gives you all the things the classroom wouldn't offer plus the combination of games, quizzes, fun competitions and prices.
Now thats the meaning of legal fun.
Using The Faculty of Law, University of Uyo as a case study. There are 4 chambers here which were named after phenomenal lawyers in Akwaibom state.
We have:
Justice Udo Udoma Chambers of Justice (JUUC). They are the orange chambers, the pacesetters π§‘
Then the Ime Umana Chambers of Justice (IUC). They are the blue chambers, the trailblazers.
Then we have the Professor Enefiok Essien SAN Chambers of Justice (PEEC). The chambers i belong to, the purple chambers π of royalty. We are the Excellent Breed.
Then i cannot forget the Justice Nsima Akpabio Chambers of Justice (JNAC). The maroon chambers that make the difference.
Now when you decide to join a chambers and successfully complete the screening process you get inducted and thats what we had on Monday. The joint chamber Induction
It was a beautiful and memorable event βΊοΈ
Processions, swearing of oaths, the noble bow, the reading of the scroll and the dulled wig.
It was all beautiful and we the Inductees were happy to begin a new journey as Associates and Advocates of our various chambers.
