Some purchases are more than just transactions. They become memories. My recent visit to Sole U Want, a local store in our town offering branded sports apparel at prices far cheaper than the mall, turned into one of those moments. What started as a simple shopping trip with my boyfriend became a story of generosity, community, and the joy of giving.
Walking into Sole U Want felt like stepping into a sportswear haven. Shoes lined the shelves, bags hung neatly, and caps, slippers, and sandals filled the racks. It was impossible not to feel excited, and I couldn’t resist snapping photos of the items to share here with you.
Our mission was clear: find a birthday present for the husband of our generous neighbor. I let my boyfriend take the lead in choosing, and after browsing through the options, we landed on a Jordan cap. The store owner mentioned it was a “Daddy design,” which made it feel even more fitting for the occasion.
While we were busy deciding, I took photos of the store’s offerings—though in the excitement, I completely forgot to take a picture of the actual gift after purchase. Thankfully, our neighbor later sent me screenshots of her messages when she handed the cap to her husband. His reaction? Pure happiness. It was heartwarming to know he genuinely liked it.
As I mentioned in my previous blog, Hive has become my new space for sharing life updates. I’ve been more active here than on my usual social media accounts, and after more than a month of consistent posting, I can feel my writing skills slowly coming back—skills I had almost set aside during my corporate job days. This experience reminded me why I love storytelling. It connects us, even through the simplest of gifts.
Thank you for joining me in this little adventure. I’m grateful for the chance to share these everyday stories with you here on Hive. Here’s to more posts, more connections, and more moments worth remembering. 💖
