Hello everyone in this wonderful community! I'm stopping by today to share photos from an afternoon in Pampatar. It was a lovely outing during this Holy Week, when many of us are free. We visited the Castillo de San Carlos de Borromeo, a historic site on Margarita Island where our past meets our present. It offers beautiful views and is a must-see if you visit this city.
Hola a todos en esta maravillosa comunidad, hoy paso por aquí para compartir con todos ustedes fotos de una tarde en Pampatar, un paseo muy lindo de esta Semana Santa en la que muchos estamos libres. Visitamos el Castillo de San Carlos de Borromeo, un lugar histórico en la Isla de Margarita dónde se reúne nuestro pasado con nuestro presente, unas vistas hermosas y una parada fija si visitas esta ciudad.
Pampatar is in fashion is the slogan for this Holy Week for this city since they have many activities for this season when the Island is filled with tourists, and yes, Pampatar is in fashion, personally it is my favorite city in Margarita, I always like to eat, walk and visit its beaches. Its entrance has two towers that simulate those of the castle, after a few minutes along that narrow one-way street you will find the square with the Church and in front the Castle, on that main street you can find restaurants, shops, houses with old facades and you feel like you are in a magical colonial and coastal place.
Pampatar está de moda es el eslogan de esta Semana Santa para esta ciudad ya que tienen muchas actividades para esta temporada donde la Isla se llena de turistas, y sí, Pampatar está de moda, en lo personal es mi ciudad favorita de Margarita, siempre me gusta comer, pasear y visitar sus playas. Su entrada tiene dos torres que simulan las del castillo, después de unos minutos por esa calle estrecha de una sola vía encontrarás la plaza con la Iglesia y al frente el Castillo, en esa calle principal se pueden encontrar restaurantes, comercios, casas con fachadas antiguas y te sientes en un lugar mágico colonial y costero.
In the square is the Church of Cristo del Buen Viaje, a soccer field, the Municipal Palace, and nearby offices such as the SENIAT (National Integrated Service of Customs and Tax Administration), the Cultural Center, and even a library. There's an esplanade next to the Castle with steps that can be used as seating in the afternoon when the sun goes down. The entrance to the Castle is across a wooden bridge.
En la plaza está la Iglesia del Cristo del Buen Viaje y también hay una cancha, el Palacio Municipal y muy cerca quedan oficinas como la del SENIAT , la Casa de la Cultura y hasta una Biblioteca. Hay una explanada al lado del Castillo con escaleras que pueden servir de asientos por la tarde cuando baja el sol. La entrada al Castillo queda cruzando un puente de madera.
Marcela and Miranda had been there a few years ago so they didn't remember much about what it was like inside. We went in and you could see how clean and tidy everything was. There was staff available to give you a short tour if you were a tourist, but we didn't need any. We showed the girls around a little at a time, and they just wanted to go up and up the towers. Something I hadn't noticed before was that by scanning the QR code, you could read or listen to the entire history of the castle in detail. It's a super useful and up-to-date tool.
Marcela y Miranda habían ido hace unos años así que no recordaban mucho como era por dentro, entramos y se nota la limpieza y el orden de cada cosa, hay personal disponible para hacerte un pequeño recorrido si eres turista pero nosotros no requerimos, les mostramos de a poco el lugar a las niñas y ellas solo querían subir y subir a las torres. Algo que no había visto antes es que escaneando ese código QR puedes leer o escuchar con detalle toda la historia del Castillo, una herramienta súper útil y actualizada.
But Marcela and Miranda's main interest was to climb to the top of the Castle, so off they went my three children running, competing to see who could get there first. This part of the Castle is very pretty. They've added potted flowers, and I love how everything looks. It seems perfect for a photo shoot.
Pero el principal interés de Marcela y Miranda era subir a lo más alto del Castillo así que allá van mis tres hijos corriendo, haciendo competencia a ver quién llegaba primero. Esta parte del Castillo es muy bonita, le han agregado flores en macetas y me encanta como se ve todo, me parece perfecto para una sesión de fotos.
It took me a few seconds longer to climb this enormous rocky slope, but it's worth it because look at the view you get when you reach the top. This is a spectacular landscape, and for this and more, I love Pampatar. You can see the pier, the different shades of water, the beach, and buildings in the background, and everything blends perfectly.
A mi me tomó unos segundos más subir esta enorme subida de piedras pero vale la pena porque miren la vista que se tiene al llegar a la cima. Esto es un espectáculo de paisaje, por esto y más me encanta Pampatar. Se puede ver el muelle, los diferentes tonos del agua, playa y edificios al fondo y todo combina perfectamente.

I can't help but want to take pictures of my loved ones in every moment and in every landscape that I see so beautiful, and although they don't like it very much, I do love taking lots of photos and filling my gallery with memories of these beautiful days that we spent together.
No puedo evitar querer tomarle fotos a mis amores en cada momento y en cada paisaje que veo así de lindo, y aunque a ellos no les gusta mucho, yo si amo tomar muchas fotos y llenar mi galería con recuerdos de estos días tan bonitos que pasamos juntos.
I really enjoy leaving the house with my family and planning things along the way. Saying "let's stop here" has become a habit, and I love that my friends always respond with a yes. Our Easter holidays are going very well, and I hope they continue to improve. I'll tell you about our upcoming trips around our beautiful Margarita Island. Disfruto mucho salir de casa con mi familia y planear cosas en el camino, decir "vamos a pararnos aquí", se ha convertido en una manía, y me encanta que mis compañeros siempre responden con un sí.
