Desde temprano en el trabajo andaba antojada de comer un buen perro caliente, y aunque se lo estuve repitiendo a mi novio durante todo el día, fue ya en la noche cuando pudimos ponernos manos a la obra.
Salimos a comprar algunas cositas básicas para preparar unos perros calientes caseros, de esos que no llevan todos los ingredientes del mundo, pero se disfrutan igual o más. Como dice mi abuela: “Eso es lo que hay”, y con eso fue más que suficiente. Teníamos lo esencial: el pan, las salchichas, papas fritas y nuestras salsas favoritas. Tal vez faltaron algunos toppings, pero les aseguro que el cariño con que los preparamos los hizo deliciosos.
No les voy a explicar el paso a paso porque estoy segura que todos saben cómo se prepara un perro caliente, pero sí aproveché para tomar algunas fotos y compartir con ustedes este momento tan bonito. Cocinar con mi novio siempre es divertido y es uno de esos pequeños placeres que valoro muchísimo. Nos reímos, probamos mientras cocinábamos y al final quedamos satisfechos y felices.

Since early in the morning at work, I'd been craving a good hot dog, and although I kept telling my boyfriend about it all day, it wasn't until nightfall that we were finally able to get down to business.
We went out to buy some basic things to make some homemade hot dogs, the kind that don't require all the ingredients in the world, but are just as enjoyable, if not more so. As my grandmother says, "That's what it is," and that was more than enough. We had the essentials: the bun, the sausages, fries, and our favorite sauces. Maybe we were missing some toppings, but I assure you that the love with which we prepared them made them delicious.
I won't explain the step-by-step instructions because I'm sure you all know how to make a hot dog, but I did take the opportunity to take some photos and share this wonderful moment with you. Cooking with my boyfriend is always fun and one of those small pleasures I cherish. We laughed, tried things while we cooked, and ended up satisfied and happy.
