Today is May 1st and as in many parts of the world, Labor Day is celebrated. Normally these days are lonely in the streets, avenues and public spaces since there are few companies or establishments that work, so most workers stay home to rest. Today I had to go downtown to run an errand and while I was waiting for it to be done, I went to the Bolivar square to rest and get some fresh air. The square was practically alone and it seemed to me the ideal setting to take some pictures of this iconic place of the city of Maracay and its surroundings.
I loved the photo you just saw because it captures a large area of the square and in the background we can see the Sindoni tower, a skyscraper famous for being the largest in the city. As I already mentioned, the square was practically alone and this is evident in the photo, believe me it would be quite complicated in other days to get anyone out in photos like these.
I also felt the need to take a couple of random photos of the common spaces of the plaza, I had one of the water fountains in front of the bench I was sitting on and there was also a palm tree with a strange red fruit, so I did not hesitate to try to capture the essence of these two elements.
The above photos correspond to the buildings of the General Comptroller of the State, the Civil Hospital and the Maracay Opera Theater, respectively, three fundamental structures in the charm that the square has since they are around it and are in excellent conditions of maintenance and painting.
So my city began the month of May with a stunning loneliness which is in keeping with the festivity of the day, and well, I took the opportunity to take the place for myself and to rest in peace and tranquility. It was great to appreciate the architectural beauty of the Bolivar square, a big hug!
