Happy New Year, Lifestyle friends! I would like to share with you a personal reflection on the beginning of 2026, which has arrived loaded with many expectations, but above all, a lot of hope for a prosperous future.
From the perspective of someone who often struggles with anxiety, my expectations are more focused on peace of mind. It has been important and significant for me to recognize that I needed and continue to need things like meditation and physical exercise as liberating self-help tools, as they are not only effective for physical health but also psychological and emotional health.
On the one hand, meditation has taught me that intrusive thoughts should not define my actions in the face of life's adversities, but that as human beings we have the ability to try to soothe our emotions through silence and reflection. On the other hand, I discovered that keeping active and exercising can be even better than any therapy or medicine.
I also write this reflection with my heart set on my country, Venezuela. I know what it means to try to stay calm when we are currently living in a reality that tests our mental health, especially given the uncertainty that looms over us every day. However, our people have always shown great resilience and the ability to overcome even in the most critical moments, and we cannot allow adverse circumstances to extinguish our inner light. Our greatest virtue is our resilience and desire to take care of ourselves, cultivating our minds and never giving up on our dreams.
This year, my goals are focused on living one day at a time, while continuing to set personal and professional goals that allow me to progress and move toward self-improvement and stability, being aware of my limits but also recognizing my progress. I have learned that taking time for myself, meditating, and going for walks help me clear my mind and calm my anxiety.
Tell me in the comments how you are taking care of your mental health and what your expectations are for this new year. Thank you for joining me here.
