Hello guys, today I would be sharing my experience at the Jos museum,so I took my girlfriend to visit the museum and on reaching there we were advised to start by visiting the 100 steps to afizere settlement, the place actually carries history of the afizere people in plateau state of Nigeria,to climb to the top it is actually 100 steps before reaching the top.
This hut we are entering is call the agwom afizere palace, the meaning of agwom is king,it is the palace of the first king of the afizere peoples, his throne and paintings are still there. The hut was dark and my girlfriend was getting scared so I asked to come out before I find my self tempted to sit on the throne and not being able to stand up aginš¤£
This statue is of an afize man performing the asharwa dance, this dance is performed by Male only and the play the flute and dance simultaneously, it has to be a group thing cause the flute is not chromatic as such a single person can not play a full song alone, every one has a specific part they play. To be part of these dancers you must be disciplined and have breath control as it is a fast dance that is performed with strength and play the flute.
She was afraid of climbing to this spot but she really wanted to take some snapshots there,I had no choice than to encourage her and help her climb and when she reach, she didn't want to come down cause she kept asking for snapshots more and more. Well it was much fun when she was to come downš
Funny us, blocking the road all in the name of taking𤣠we finally reached the top and took alot of picture and I forgot to mention my younger brother was our photographer
So we came down and visited the small zoo where we saw some few animals
