Vengo a comentarles en un pequeño post como fue mi "domingo de locos", esto ya que estuve super ocupada tratando de adelantar todo y resolver todo lo de la universidad. Como ya algunos que hayan leídos otros post míos sabrán, yo estudio odontologia, y ese fin de semana que paso, fue una total locura todas las cosas y tareas que tenía pendiente. Gracias a que procrastine un poco, me toco dejar casi todo para el lunes, menos algunas cosas. Entonces bueno, me pare a eso de las 7-8am para poder comer, bañarme, y hacer todas mis cosas a tiempo
I'm here to tell you in a little post how my "crazy Sunday" was, since I was super busy trying to get everything done and solve all the university stuff. As some of you who have read my other posts may know, I study dentistry, and that weekend I spent, it was totally crazy all the things and tasks I had pending. Thanks to my procrastination, I had to leave almost everything for Monday, except for a few things. So, I stopped around 7-8am so I could eat, bathe, and do all my things on time.
Comencé tratando de montar un modelo de unos dientes en un aparato odontológico que se llama "articulador". Sin mentir, estuve casi todo el día haciendo eso. Yo la verdad pensé que sería una tarea más fácil que no me llevaría más de dos horas, pero estaba super equivocada
I started by trying to assemble a model of some teeth in a dental appliance called an "articulator". No lie, I spent most of the day doing that. I actually thought it would be an easier task that wouldn't take me more than two hours, but I was super wrong.
La primera vez que traté de montarlo con yeso, me salió terriblemente mal, y me toco destruirlo todo para volverlo a comenzar. No se si alguna vez les ha tocado romper un bloque de yeso pero no es tan facil. Estuve un buen trato rompiendo y rompiendo hasta que cedió
The first time I tried to mount it with plaster, it went terribly wrong, and I had to destroy it all to start over again. I don't know if you've ever had to break a block of plaster, but it's not that easy. I spent a good deal of time breaking and breaking until it gave way.
Mi segunda vez montando este equipo me fue muchísimo mejor. Salió rápido y estaba bastante feliz de haberlo logrado, aunque, al ver que ya eran casi las 4pm, si estaba un poco mortificada. También necesitaba imprimir unos dibujos para pegarlos en cartulinas y regalárselo a niños que asistieran a un evento en la clínica de mi universidad.
My second time riding this rig went much, much better. It came out quickly and I was quite happy to have done it, although, seeing that it was almost 4pm, I was a bit mortified. I also needed to print some drawings to glue on cardboard and give to children attending an event at my university clinic.
No me tomo mucho escoger los dibujos. Lo que me costó fue cortar más de 30 dibujo, y más de 30 cartulinas para ponerlos de base. Mi mamá me trajo comida ya que estaba bastante preocupada por mi, por no haber comido de todo lo que estaba haciendo
It didn't take me long to choose the drawings. I had to cut out more than 30 drawings, and more than 30 pieces of cardboard to put them on as a base. My mom brought me food as she was quite worried about me, for not having eaten from all the work I was doing.
Como cosa rara en venezuela, se fue la luz a mitad de proceso. Esto me frustró bastante ya que no podía seguir igual, pero tuve que hacerlo con la linterna del teléfono y mucha fe. Casi cuando estaba terminando, volvió la luz, y esta me dejó darle los últimos detalles a los dibujos con más tranquilidad.
As a rare thing in Venezuela, the power went out in the middle of the process. This frustrated me a lot because I couldn't continue the same way, but I had to do it with the phone's flashlight and a lot of faith. Almost when I was finishing, the power came back on, and I was able to give the last details to the drawings with more tranquility.
De todo esto termine bastante tarde y cansada, sabiendo que aún me faltaban estudiar temas para el examen que tendría el día después. Fue un día super estresante para mi, pero a su vez, me alegra haber resuelto de manera eficiente todos mis pendientes.
From all of this I finished quite late and tired, knowing that I still had to study topics for the exam I would have the day after. It was a super stressful day for me, but at the same time, I'm glad to have efficiently solved all my pending issues.
