El sábado pasado tuve un lindo encuentro con varias personas que hace tiempo no veía, esto debido al cumpleaños de una gran amiga.

Ella organizó una fiesta muy bonita con todos sus amigos, y creo que es la segunda vez que asisto a una con estas características que les iré contando más adelante.

Lo primero, la temática de la fiesta eran los años 2000, es decir todo lo relacionado a esa época, películas, música, series, etc. Entonces debíamos ir disfrazados de este estilo dosmilero, también había otras condiciones, como traer acuarelas y pinceles y una actitud y mente de investigador.

🎭 El disfraz

Como era de esperar, yo no sabía muy bien qué atuendo usar, quería algo interesante pero tampoco tan complicado de realizar, entonces después de ver muchas opciones en internet y siguiendo también las ideas que la cumpleañera había puesto, decidí disfrazarme como uno de los personajes de la película Camp Rock (de Disney).

Me resultó fácil porque ya tenía bien pensado qué usar, desde la ropa hasta los accesorios. Otra cosa que empecé a averiguar fue el regalo, si bien a ella ya no la veo mucho, sí sé lo que le gusta y me decidí por una billetera de Harry Potter.

Y llegó el día, me demoré un poco arreglándome, pero cuando estuve lista partí hacia la fiesta. Al llegar me encontré con varias amigas de varios voluntariados de los que fui parte.

Dato curioso, así conocí a la cumpleañera, porque compartimos ese gusto por hacer voluntariados, y no solo en uno sino en tres jeje. Algo lindo de estas actividades es que siempre se conocen a personas maravillosas.

Ya en la fiesta, lo primero que me dijeron es que debía explicar mi disfraz, obviamente les conté de lo que venía y de ahí me dieron un formulario donde tenía que responder qué tan bien conocía a la cumpleañera, fue largo pero divertido jeje, porque algunas preguntas me hicieron dudar.

Después de eso nos fuimos conociendo con más invitados del cumpleaños, igualmente de otros voluntariados, mientras seguían llegando más y más.

🕵️ El juego del misterio

Hasta que empezó el caso, como les comenté antes, jugamos algo así como ¿quién mató a la celebridad?, entonces nos dividieron en 3 grupos para lograr resolver ese caso, con acertijos y juegos divertidos, como crucigramas, adivinar y cantar la canción, entre otros.

Todo eso tomó bastante tiempo, jeje, tanto que ya parecía imposible adivinar quién era, si bien también había pistas nuevas que les daban a los ganadores de las anteriores dinámicas, aun así, todos terminamos confundidos.

No estoy segura si alguien pudo resolver o si la cumpleañera sopló las respuestas jeje pero por cada mesa hubo un culpable, al parecer, lo gracioso fue que ella juraba que era muy fácil adivinar quiénes era pero no fue así para nosotros.

🎨 Pintando macetas

Luego pasamos a otra actividad, nos dieron macetas pequeñas para pintarlas a nuestro gusto, con las acuarelas y pinceles que cada uno trajo, cada uno eligió su estilo, colores y diseño. Salieron muy bonitos diseños.

Mientras se daban estas actividades también había comida y sodas para compartir, y también hot dogs. La cumpleañera planeó con mucho detalle su fiesta, se notaba que quería que todos nos divirtiéramos y lo logró.

Llegó el momento de cantarle, apagaron las luces, vino la torta y todos comenzamos a cantar. Ella estaba muy contenta, sopló las velas y mordió la torta; hubo algunas palabras de agradecimiento por parte de su familia y los amigos.

🎂 El momento más emotivo

Algo que ella nos repitió mucho es que ella quería devolvernos un poco del cariño, tiempo y amistad que ella había recibido de todos nosotros.

Fue algo muy conmovedor, nunca me habían dicho algo tan bonito, creo que todos sentimos ese cariño y amor que quería devolvernos, y nosotros también sentimos lo mismo.

Quizá parezca un cumpleaños simple, pero ella se tomó la molestia de pensar en cada uno de nosotros, desde el lugar, la hora, hasta los gustos, porque trató de hacer una fiesta jovial, creativa y divertida.

Las fotos, las risas, las charlas y las nuevas amistades formadas no faltaron. Aprovecho el espacio para agradecer a mi amiga y felicitarla por su cumpleaños.

The Most Creative Party I've Ever Been To

Last Saturday, I had a lovely get-together with several people I hadn't seen in a while, thanks to a close friend's birthday.

She threw a really nice party with all her friends, and I think this is the second time I've been to a party like this—I'll tell you more about it later.

First off, the party’s theme was the 2000s—everything related to that era: movies, music, TV shows, and so on. So we had to dress up in that 2000s style. There were also other requirements, like bringing watercolors and paintbrushes, and coming with an investigative mindset and attitude.

🎭 The Costume

As expected, I wasn’t quite sure what outfit to wear. I wanted something interesting but not too complicated to put together. So, after looking at many options online and also taking inspiration from the ideas the birthday girl had shared, I decided to dress up as one of the characters from the movie Camp Rock (by Disney).

It was easy for me because I already had a clear plan for what to wear, from the clothes to the accessories. Another thing I started figuring out was the gift. Even though I don’t see her much anymore, I do know what she likes, so I decided on a Harry Potter wallet.

And the day arrived. It took me a little while to get ready, but once I was ready, I headed off to the party. When I arrived, I ran into several friends from various volunteer groups I’d been part of.

Fun fact: that’s how I met the birthday girl—we share a love of volunteering, and not just one but three different ones, haha. One of the nice things about these activities is that you always meet wonderful people.

Once at the party, the first thing they told me was that I had to explain my costume. Obviously, I told them what I was dressed as, and then they gave me a form where I had to answer how well I knew the birthday girl. It was long but fun, haha, because some of the questions made me hesitate.

After that, we got to know more of the birthday guests, who were also from other volunteer groups, while more and more people kept arriving.

🕵️ The Mystery Game

Until the case began—as I mentioned earlier—we played something like “Who Killed the Celebrity?” Then they divided us into three groups to solve the case, with riddles and fun games, like crossword puzzles, guessing games, and singing songs, among others.

All that took quite a while, hehe, so much so that it seemed impossible to guess who it was. Although there were new clues given to the winners of the previous activities, we all ended up confused anyway.

I’m not sure if anyone was able to solve it or if the birthday girl gave away the answers, hehe, but there was a culprit at every table. Apparently, the funny thing was that she swore it was very easy to guess who it was, but that wasn’t the case for us.

🎨 Painting flower pots

Then we moved on to another activity: we were given small flower pots to paint however we liked, using the watercolors and brushes we’d each brought. Everyone chose their own style, colors, and design. The results were really beautiful.

While these activities were going on, there was also food and soda to share, as well as hot dogs. The birthday girl planned her party in great detail; you could tell she wanted everyone to have fun, and she succeeded.

It was time to sing to her. They turned off the lights, brought out the cake, and we all started singing. She was very happy; she blew out the candles and took a bite of the cake. There were a few words of thanks from her family and friends.

🎂 The most emotional moment

Something she kept telling us was that she wanted to give back a little of the affection, time, and friendship she had received from all of us.

It was very touching; no one had ever said anything so beautiful to me before. I think we all felt that affection and love she wanted to give back to us, and we felt the same way too.

It might seem like a simple birthday, but she went out of her way to think of each of us—from the venue and the time to our individual tastes—because she tried to throw a cheerful, creative, and fun party.

There was no shortage of photos, laughter, conversations, and new friendships formed. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank my friend and wish her a happy birthday.
