Hello Ice Cream Lovers. It's me again and this time I write for community on my main account. I'm really trying hard to get some traction for this new community I set up at the begining of January. I think I have to change gears a bit and be the head for it on my main account because the community is just too new and doesn't have a lot of subscribers yet.
So last week I posted an article from the community about Ice Cream Sundaes. I shared a few of them that I have made in the past at home. I even added a fun writing competition where you can share one or more of the sundaes that you have enjoyed. I haven't got a single entry yet so I'm extending it out another week to 2 February 1800 UTC.To check it out and get the rules click here.
Well let me share with you another ice cream sundae. This one is the brownie sundae.
Pretty easy preparation for this one once you make the brownies. I didn't make the brownies from scratch. I used a box of Duncan Hines Brownie mix. I added 3 eggs, 2/3 cups of vegetable oil and 3 tablespoons of water. I also added half a bag of mixed peanut butter and chocolate chips. Once mixed, I poured into a 8 X 8 glass dish. Just before that I sprayed the dish with some canola oil. The smaller the dish the thicker the brownies will be. It cooked in the oven at 350° F for about 40 minutes. I let it sit for about 10 minutes out of the oven than placed in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. This makes it easier to cut them and gives it a better cut look. It made 9 brownies the size of the one in the first photo above.
The sundae preparation is easy:
Step one: Place brownie in bowl or on plate.
Step two: Pour some hot fudge or hot caramel over brownie.
Step three: Add ice cream over the top of brownie.
Step four: Pour some hot fudge or hot carmel over ice cream.
This sundae really has a rich taste. It's really enjoyable because you get two desserts. The cold ice cream and the so good moist taste of the brownie. The hot fudge or hot carmel just brings a nice layer in between 😋
Well let me share some other ice cream creations, this time out of the realm of being considered a sundae. Let me show you a Root Beer Float and a Peach Milk Shake.
The Root Beer Float is so easy that anybody can do. Just need ice cream and a bottle of root beer. I like to use a mug because it gives it a classic look. Another thing I like doing is storing the mug in the freezer so it builds a little frost on it. It's a drink you will need both a spoon and a straw for.
Step one: Fill the mug up with ice cream. I think I used two scoops on this one. Doesn't have to be filled all the way to the top.
Step two: Pour in the root beer. Do this slowly and start by tilting the mug as your filling. You want a little bit of foam at the top. If you do fast the foam will be too much and it will run down the side of the mug.
There you have it, something to drink through a straw and eat with a spoon. The root beer can crystalize a bit on the ice cream giving it a somewhat of crunchy texture on the outside. The root beer will still have its taste but with a bit of cream taste to it. Super yummy and quite the delight for a hot summer day.
One can also do this float with other sodas and pops. It's really good doing it with an orange soda or if you have it an Orange Crush. I'd think you would be ok if you tried it with any dark colored sodas such as a Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and some others. In my opinion, I don't think the taste would be good with the lighter colored sodas such Sprite, 7-Up and any others.
I'm sure most have enjoyed a milk shake and even made there own. The essentials for a milk shake include ice cream, milk and a blender. If your looking for a fruity flavor simply just add that fruit to it. I tend to use frozen fruit to make the milk shake even colder.
I always add a little bit of ice cream first, than put the fruit in, more ice cream, and add the milk last. A simple push of a button on your mixer and you have a milk shake you can savor through a straw.
Once it's poured in the glass I like to add whip cream over the top. It fills the glass up and goes very well with the ice cream. To top off the whip cream I usually use a cherry. Sometimes I used crushed mix nuts.
That's all the ice cream I got for you today. If you haven't yet please check out the community. Your free to write anything there ice cream related and you don't necessarily have to write for the ongoing competition.
Take care, stay safe, and enjoy the weekend. I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream 🍨🍦
