Hi, Ice Cream Creations! I'm glad you feature Halo-Halo, a Filipino dessert in the Philippines that means Mix-mix in English. If it's a special Halo-Halo, means there is ice cream on top.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat a Halo-Halo in Paris. I stopped by a Filipino store near the PH embassy but there was no ice available or else I needed to wait. Maybe next time.
Eating Halo-halo from my hometown in Naga, Cebu
What I love about my hometown is that we have a good place to eat and enjoy the park. One afternoon, I was so busy preparing my documents for my visa application. I got hungry so I treated myself Halo-halo paired it up with Mr. Chips. Damn, I miss eating Mr. Chips. My Halo-halo had not so many ingredients but I loved it. There were sago, bits of mango, and some fruity mix. I think it was PHP 15 or PHP 25 for this Halo-halo. The price was about half a dollar or less. I got Chocolate ice cream on top for my Halo-halo.
With this photo, I could see some buko or young coconut meat strips and ube yam.
Eating Halo-halo inside Ayala Center Cebu
I forgot the name of this shop at Ayala Center Cebu but later on, the shop already closed down. But they got nice Halo-halo in this place. The ingredients here were very visible as you can see in the photo above.
Mango ice cream on top with cereals. I see corn, red and green gulaman, white sago, leche flan, ube yam, and buko strips. I was really hungry that I paired it up with a rice bowl. A very delicious pair I was so full after this.
And look at my face, I felt so satisfied. Oh, I miss eating alone, dating myself. Hahaha!
Eating Halo-halo for lunch
I remember this photo I was having lunch with my mother. I wanted to buy two Halo-halo but my mama said we just buy one and share together. Because I bought so much food that she would regret she couldn't finish our Halo-halo.
There was ube ice cream on top, yum yum plus grated cheese. Other ingredients that are visible in my eyes are red and green gulaman, banana, buko strips, and leche flan.
That's all for today's blog. Miam!
