Cada día parece quererme más, y lo peor o lo mejor es que también logra que yo lo quiera todavía más. Es tan descarado que insiste en estar encima de mí a toda hora, se acuesta sobre mi mano, invade mi teclado y hasta me toca correrlo a un ladito si quiero trabajar. Pero igual es imposible enojarse, porque siempre está pendiente de lo que hago; si me levanto, me sigue con la mirada, como diciendo “¿para dónde vas?”. Y ni hablar cuando voy al baño, más de una vez ha llegado detrás de mí, como si tuviera que supervisarme. Cuando no me sigue, simplemente se adueña de mi silla, incluso cuando me paro para servirme un café.
Y bueno, algo que sí no perdona es el sonido de una bolsa o un paquete. Inmediatamente se activa y piensa que todo es comida o galletas para él.
A pesar de sus mañas, Pepe es tremendamente tierno. A veces se acuesta sobre mi mano y, de la nada, me abraza como diciéndome “no te vayas”. Su confianza ha crecido tanto que ahora duerme patas arriba por largos ratos, como si estuviera en un spa felino. Tanto así que cuando mi jefe pasa por aquí, siempre termina muerto de la risa.
Eso sí, el hombrecito tiene un poquito de sobrepeso, así que decidimos conseguirle un gimnasio. Muchos compañeros dicen que solo lo usará para dormir y no lo dudo, pero yo tengo fe en que logrará rebajar. Ya lo mandé a comprar porque mi jefe siempre procura que Pepe esté bien; come el cuido más costoso, tiene su espacio, la verdad es que es un gato muy afortunado. Y nosotros también lo somos por tenerlo, porque Pepe es, de verdad, un animalito agradecido y encantador.
