Greetings Felines and Hoomans of the Hive!

Hope this day finds everyone healthy and well, wherever you are. It's Saturday once again — my favorite time of the week — time to celebrate CATURDAY!

First day in my new home. Look at the size of those EARS!

So bring out your best photos of your feline friends and share and celebrate the awesomeness of CATS.

It's a beautiful sunny day here where we are, and today we can almost imagine that summer is not so far away.

A Look Back... Time Flies!

Since this is also Curator Cat's 4th anniversary of arriving at our house, we ended up working a bit on sorting old photos today, particularly old kitten photos from times gone by... so since it is Caturday, sharing a few of those with you, today!

Baby Curator Cat (aka "Shadow") was rescued from the local shelter in early May of 2016. He and his littermates had been found by a kindly person bicycling along the county road not far from here... someone had simply dropped off a cardboard box with a litter of kittens in the woods, near the road.

She heard the sad meowing from the box, discovered the kittens, and rode directly to the shelter with the wee ones.

Thankfully, we have a no-kill shelter, and the kittens were quickly adopted, after their very rough and rude start to life.

At the time, we were still mourning the loss of our long-time cat Kramer, and not really looking for a new floof... but this little black kitten with a (natural) bobtail won our hearts in a hurry.

Although the little guy seemed healthy and well-adjusted, he got very sick from an "undetermined" infection and almost dies within a week of arriving in his new home.

Thankfully, an aggressive intervention with antibiotics saved his life!

It has been four years since then, and Shadow is now the ruler of the roost around here!

He's very energetic, playful and one of the most affectionate cats we've had in 50-odd years of living with cats. We're very grateful he became part of the family!
