Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Today is Saturday, and — as all good cats know — Saturday means Caturday! Caturday is my favorite day of the week because it's all about cats... although my Hoomans do a fine job of making sure that all days feel like Caturdays!
What's happening outside?
Solar Eclipse!
The Hoomans were up and out of bed relatively early this morning, because of something they called a "solar eclipse." It was evidently not a complete eclipse we had here in this part of the world, but it was still rather interesting.
We started with a somewhat sunny day here, but in late morning it seems like we were going to have sunset at any moment. At most, the Moon covered about 75 to 80% of the Sun here, which was significant enough to be quite noticeable.
And then it was all over again, just as fast as it began. I have to admit that I didn't much care one way or the other and found myself having a nice nap on the sheepskin on the bench!
It's interesting to think that back in the days before astronomers had figured out what eclipses were, many people would become fearful and wonder whether they were witnessing the End of the World!
So, What Else is New?
Seems like it was another dull week in the Cryptosphere. Nothing really moved much in any one direction, and — aside from an occasional spike due to market manipulations — it seems like the Bear Market remains solidly anchored in place. I hear positive talk, but it seems to have little effect. Our own Hive token lost a little bit of ground, so that (sadly!) pretty much amounts to situation normal.

I've been doing a bit of house cleaning on my Hive "follower" list, and I find it is a little bit alarming how many people I once followed was great enthusiasm have not been active in a very long time. In fact, of the 200 plus people I had decided to follow, it seems like only about a dozen are still active.

Kind of makes me wish there were a way we were it would be able to reach out to those people who are no longer active. But I guess it's part of the anonymity of the blockchain that nobody really knows who anybody is! That has both positive and negative effects.
Meanwhile, Smudge — my very fuzzy housemate — continues to do well, and she's always taking it easy and doesn't stress out about things happening in the world nearly as much as I do! She's getting close to the time for her annual "haircut" though... it's something we must do, to keep her long fur from turning into dreadlocks.

Oh, and the Hoomans have once again been talking about getting a new kitten or possibly two kittens sometime in the spring, so we'll have to see what comes of that. I'm not sure how I feel about being "play uncle" to a couple of rambunctious youngsters, but on the other hand the company would be nice!
