Meow's kittens that were in the other side of the wall until recently
Meow’s family of kittens have moved away from their old safe haven residence
Last week Meow cat and family on the entrance seat of the compound wall
There’s been some lifestyle changes for Meow and family with the kittens having grown out of the stage of feeding on her milk. These growing kittens recently got out of their compound wall area residence and are showcasing their presence around my flat premises. These are the very same kittens who were for the most part living on the other side of the wall, in a sealed empty plot with bushy overgrowth. Last week I saw Meow and her kittens resting cuddled together on the entrance seat of the compound wall near the flat entrance.
The usual wandering lost kitten of cat Meow roaming about floors last week
The pioneer kitten who first jumped out of the compound wall
Before this as usual, one particular kitten that began wandering out of the compound wall a week or two earlier, again got lost and was making rounds on every floor on my flat Block. Last week Friday night before sleeping I just followed the meow sounds that was coming occasionally throughout the day and bingo I found a very little cat sitting on the floor above, it was not scared of heights of course as it was sitting comfortably on a standing area made out for us humans to view outside, it’s pretty open and this was the 6th floor.
Maybe this was the kitten I helped reunite last to last week?, that time it did not know how to jump on to the compound wall. Soon in the days to come it figured out how to jump on to the compound wall without help, it used its legs to get grip briefly on the vertical wall I guess, as these cat species have those sharp nails for getting grip on surfaces for climbing.
Anyway, this little feline was ok with me being there with it as long as I did not come near it, so I gave it some dry food and milk, it had that pretty liberally. After this it meowed towards me much more softly while earlier it meowed in offence.

Again the kitten gets reunited with it’s Mom and joins it’s family
Now, all of Meow’s kittens recognize me, as one potential person they can meow to for food. I take it that I have formed a foundation for a friendly relationship with these kittens. Anyway, that kitten that I feed that night must have reunited with it’s Mom in the morning, when Mom cat Meow must have come to eat on the first floor. I have not witnessed that touching spectacle but I heard some cat noises when I was cooking breakfast in the morning.
Last week Saturday evening,I saw Meow and her 3 kittens resting on the compound wall seat near the flat residence. When I came there, my heart smiled when one kitty, presumably the one I fed last night came forward and meowed to me.
One kitten looking from the Meow family's resting place that day
That day night before sleeping I put two bowls of milk and kitten kebbel on the compound wall. The whole family eat it full. One thing is evident, this group of cats have a bond, they don’t fight for food.
My morning encounters with these 3 kittens in the past few days
The 3 kittens under the car in my flat Block
Fast forward to some days later, I found one kitten following Mom cat Meow, when she came to eat on the first floor in the mornings. She was irritated with her kitten because food was kept just for her and that little creature was taking it shamelessly.
Two days ago, when I was on my morning walk, I noticed a figure of a ginger cat playing, eating grass and I went towards it. And by jove, the two kittens meowed, recognizing me and asking for food. They remember me!!!
Nowadays, Meow's kittens recognize me and meow to me for food!!
They were not coming near me, yet they were pursuing me while keeping some distance inbetween (they know about the Carona pandemic I guess, ha!!). But it was evident that they trust me.
Meow’s family all longing to be served food which they demand with their Meows to me
I am told to shu them away from sitting on Scooters as the kittens may tear up the seats. Hope they don't!!
So, I served them two bowls of milk and left over kebbel that I wanted off to finish anyway. The hungry things devoured it!! Their mom had arrived by then and saw me and wanted a share of the milk and kebbel while another kitten that’s completely unfriendly, and so did not join the two kittens in taking served food saw Mom cat and wanted her love.
It was evident, Mom cat wanted the food for herself, than have her kitties take them. However, they are on friendly terms and share food together, even though she hisses occasionally.
Meow cat knows a lot of resident houses around the flat where she can go meow and get food, so food shortage is not a problem for her. Now, it appears her kittens are also demanding food from people they know who might feed them.
Calico Meow cat who is the Mom of the kittens alluded to above!!
Here is a video of her I took today morning, she's a active girl very inspired by outdoor elements that grab her attention.
On the process of establishing a relationship so can handle the kittens if need be
There is another person feeding the kittens when she sees them, bless her, so I am not required to do it anymore. The reason this is being done, is to have them spayed when the time comes if they decide to stay on the flat premises, so efforts are on to get friendly with them!!
Imagine 10 kittens demanding food tomorrow because earlier it was just 1 Calico cat on the premises, now 3 of her kittens have joined her and entered the premises demanding food, that’s got to be enough for sure. However, it’s a joy to see Meow cat and her kittens around. It will be great to watch them grow and be part of the cat creatures around the flat premises!!
Happy Caturday.
