so I thought it will be better to melt your hearts a little first:)
Game of chance
She did this so often and with such lightness and nonchalance that it never occurred to me that one day her luck might leave her.
Look before you leap
Unfortunately it did - I went out onto the balcony to water the flowers. I ran out of water - so I went into the bathroom to get more, went out onto the balcony to water the rest of the plants I heard meowing, but as if from afar. I looked out over the balcony - I saw a black(from a distance it is black though) cat in the street, sitting under our balcony. I ran outside - Tamika was sitting on the pavement, not moving. I stroked her head - she came closer to me but curled up with her back paw. I took her home, wrapped her in a blanket, packed her in a carrier and we drove to the vet. Still in the cab, I called the vet clinic with the information that I am bringing a cat with a suspected serious injury.
No luck, this time around
On the spot, the vet gave her an injection straight away so that she wouldn't lash out - even though it was obvious she was in huge pain - she managed to scratch both the vet and his assistant, and me :D They took an x-ray - it turned out that her leg was broken at the ankle joint. The vet first used cryotherapy - icy air froze the leg slightly so it wouldn't swell, and hurt less later. Then a plaster cast was put on all the way to her hip, so she wasn't able to move the leg at all.
I took her home in my arms because I was worried she might hurt herself in the carrier. She cuddled up to me and meowed quietly for a while. Already at home - I had to help her with using the litter tray. It was difficult for her to lick herself, so I combed her more often than usual, and washed her with a damp cloth. My heart was breaking. But after only 2 days - Tamika started to limp around the house.
The fluffy pirate coped very well with the presence of the cast. After less than 4 days she was able to use the litter tray without my help.
And now the best part
After 5 weeks the the cast was removed. The leg looked good, Tamika was immediately able to walk normally, she would just endlessly licking the 'new leg'. We came home, I open the carrier, the cat went to the balcony door.
-No way. I won't open the door for you!
-Miau
-No!
That same evening I come out of the kitchen - the balcony door is open and the cat is sitting on the railing.
-I told you not to open the balcony!
-I just put the pot of soup out to cool down.
-Look!
I pointed to the cat sitting on the balustrade.
The next day we bought a net :D
I hope you have great weekend:)
Yours,
