Blu’s such a sweetheart — calm, cuddly, and not the type to cause chaos. He doesn't spray, wander far, or get into trouble.
Honestly, he’s just a happy, chilled-out little guy. But I’m a bit confused about whether I should get him neutered or just let things be.
I’ve already had Coco spayed and done everything I can to protect the local wildlife — leashes, bells on collars, and supervised outings. My neighbours are lovely and care deeply for their birds and hedgehogs, and they even have a pond full of fancy koi fish. But Blu’s never really been into hunting — he’s more about finding the perfect nap spot.
There are health benefits to neutering, such as lowering the risk of certain cancers and suppressing hormonal urges that might make him wander or get into fights. However, I haven't noticed any hormonal urges or behavioural changes yet. Possibly, it's still early? He's 9 months old.
He's just so content and gentle as he is. I don’t want to fix what isn’t broken, but I also wonder if it’s the right thing to do. I've been suppressing this decision for a while, and I believe neutering when older can be a little risky due to possible complications.
Have you ever been stuck on a decision like this with your pets?
I would love to hear your thoughts! 💙
Have a lovely day, everyone.
