Folks, this week has been a tough one. Monday during my lunch hour I witnessed a beautiful cat get struck by a Hilux even as I was trying to get the vehicle to slow down. Wednesday we heard that they were going to add speed bumps in our area (different to the area on Monday). This brought up some tough questions for my wife and I: do we allow our cat to start roaming the area once the bumps are in? We are terrified of losing our baby boy (he's now two years old).
This was compounded by yesterday morning reading that our friends precious cat Willow was also run over. I'm sorry that this isn't a happy post, I just need to actually say it so that I don't keep the sadness inside. We love our fur-baby, and we know he wants to roam, but it's so difficult to make that decision when we've witnessed two cats in the same week lose their lives.
