I wrote a number of cat related posts recently, mostly about Beniamino, 's tom cat
and now also mine, as we have been living together for almost 9 months, of which almost 6 months in Italy

Comunque/anyway...
A couple of days ago, when I ventured into the gardens below our house, I spotted Beniamino lying down in what must be one of his favorite chilling places; a flower pot on a table in a cosy, somewhat hidden area.
I have seen him there several times now and it honestly wouldn't surprise me if he spends a couple of hours per day in that specific (s)pot, lazing and sleeping.
Suffice to say that I couldn't help taking some pictures of him with the idea of using them for drawing (inspiration), later on.

At the top of this write up, you can see the first drawing I made, after having arrived back home and sitting down in the second bathroom that also doubles as a drawing room.
And here's some steps of the coloring process:
I hope you like the result. Clare sure did :<)
FYI: My drawing is not meant to be realistic. I draw pretty fast and try to capture and focus on the essence and - in this case - the spirit of Beniamino.
If he ended up looking cute and a bit funny, I consider that mission accomplished,
as that is pretty much a metaphor for me and my style.
P.S. I seem to be drawing cats on an almost daily basis now. Yesterday and earlier today, I spent some time observing and drawing them too. This time without taking photos (first). The latter means that I either need to draw way quicker and focus less on details or hope that they sleep and/or stay in the same position for a while. Today, I mainly drew Betty, Clare's oldest cat. I might share some of these drawings as well as more about her (character) in my next Caturday post.
