gm frens!
Cheers, Prost and happy #beersaturday from a small, rainy corner of the world.
I had a power out on my block a few hours ago due to a power line transformer explosion.
I didn't see it, but I heard it.
It was loud! and followed by complete darkness on my block. Well, not complete darkness because it happened at 8:00am in the morning, but complete loss of power.
My apartment building has an emergency power plant for elevators and a limited amount of lights, so nothing to worry about, but it does make you realize how much we depend on electricity (and internet these days).
Since there was no power, I decided to do some offline activities.
I went down to the bakery to get some freshly baked, sweet, cashew croissants to eat with my coffee. Sounds good, right? Except they didn't have any bread, because... well... there wasn't any power, so I decided to spend the morning doing some DIY activities instead.
Oh also, I wouldn't have been able to heat up water for my coffee, so no coffee this morning.
I walked down to the hardware store and bought some extension chords for the office as well as some electrical tape to make some minor repairs in the studio.
We are often in need of extension chords and power strips. I found some heavy duty black ones that would be pretty easy to hide on a stage.
Productivity: 6/10.
After that, it was art attack time!
I decided to update my mural in my apartment's chalk wall. It's been blank for a few weeks.
I drew some Philodendron erubescens and a couple of Monstera deliciosa leaves. What do you think?
This was fun for a while, but I needed to connect with some fellow lions. How to do that with no power and no internet?
I'll tell you how.
I walked down to the local pub and ordered a beer, as any gentleman should. I set up my office in the corner and got to work.
Check out my setup:

This is where #beersaturday starts. I ordered a girlfriendless IPA from Antigua Cerveza in two different styles: regular hops and double hops. The taste was slightly different, One was a bit more hoppy, but not so different for me to notice a real difference. They both had a ver similar, hoppy, IPA taste. they were both equally delicious.
And then... the gods spoke.
It started raining cats and dogs.
It's hard to tell from the picture, but I promise it was raining hard 😄
The UEFA football match was on too so I watched Italy and Albania play. There were a few of goals in this match, but I was really much more concentrated on writing my post and staying dry.
After the game, the beers and the rain. My amazing partner in crime made this delicious dish from Costa Rica called chifrijo:
It's made with pork, pork rinds, tomato, red beans, and some chopped onions and peppers.
It really hit the spot!
Now that I'm home I guess I'll have to crack open another beer and finish my #beersaturday post.
Haha
Prost!!
Shoutout to my new friend who inspired me to write this today.
How was YOUR beer Saturday?
