Nothing makes a beautiful memory like a cold bottle of beer. I don't know about others but the moment it gets into my system, I feel at ease, like all my problems have been moved to the back burner and the only thing that matters is the sweet taste of victory standing in front of me.
It has been a couple of months now, so some of my memory of the event might be a bit fuzzy but I will never forget the day this beer made its entrance into my life. I'd like to add that I',m not one to switch brands, I like what I like and instinctively order for it whenever I'm offered or find myself at a beer spot.
On this day, I decided to give this new brand a shot because a close friend of mine had said some nice things about it. The funny thing is that I went there with the intention of trying out this new brand but initially ordered for my regular then changed my mind when I realised my mistake.
So one bottle of Trophy Lagger standing right in front of me and I thought to myself, what a cheeky brand name, you brilliant bastards. I'd normally not take a picture of my drink because I feel weird doing it but what the hell, I figured I'd mark this day with a picture.
I had actually never been to this beer spot before and I must commend the service because the bartender was extra nice to me. It is a place I recommend you visit and I'll definitely go there again whenever I'm in Jos. Like I said, my memory fails me but I remember that it's a little corner in that Plaza close to "Mining" found somewhere along the road that leads to Rantya from State low-cost.
The beer was...how do you say...unspectacular but not in a bad way. When it comes to beer, I prefer the unspectacular or shall I say familiar. It went down easily because the texture on its way down sort of reminds me of my favourite brand and put a smile on my face.
Tastes like victory
I called it a day but that was after I took down two more bottles of this beauty to ensure the first bottle wasn't a fluke.It wasn't a fluke and Trophy made a lasting impression on me that day and held down second position in my beer ranking until it was recently ousted by Heineken. That notwithstanding, it is a pretty awesome beer that I look forward to drinking that made a good impression.
