Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to switch things up for my beer purchases!
Alternate Beer Saturday
This #beer saturday is one that I did over a few nights, I can't handle drinking more than one beer a night these days hahaha. I did have an extra little bit, so I wanted to share them!
This iteration of the #beer Saturday is one where I went to the brewery that I like to go to and I picked up a 6 pack of the different varieties they had created! The last time I went to this one, it seems like it was either a slow brewing day or they were in between the different batches. They didn't have a great selection. This time around though, they had an awesome selection! I was able to get 5 different kinds, which was perfect! Gives me variety throughout the weeks that I am drinking them.
I decided to step out of my normal routine a little bit with this one, I opted for beers that were not the ones I always get! I'm an IPA guy for sure but this time I decided to switch it up and try some different flavors. I liked that this brewery does an awesome deal and you get 6 beers for 20$ which is a great savings. The last brewery I went to, took me for highway robbery and charged 18$ for 4 beers! I was flabbergasted at those damn insane prices lol
The wheat ale here was delicious, it's been a while since I've had a wheat ale I think, because damn was it a lot easier to drink down than other beers. I could have finished two in a night but I would have absolutely been drunk and that's not good when you have a wife and kid expecting things of you the next day lol
They also had this really wonderful bit of a blend that I had never experienced before. It was a ginger and honey pale ale! I definitely loved this one, it tasted great and went down incredibly smooth! Made for an easy drink that's for sure, and I think I will get another one or two of this kind in particular. I think so far out of the ones I've tried from this batch, this has been my favorite. I like how they are incorporating different things like this into their brewing process. I don't know of many other breweries who are trying to add some different ingredients, I know I've never seen a honey and ginger beer. It's usually a ginger beer, or one with honey but not both. I was loving that one for sure!
The foam on it was very minimal, and I think that all of the beers I drank so far were fairly minimal on the foam. I don't necessarily mind it, but it's nice to have a little bit on top sometimes!
Don't mind the glass, we are going through our kitchenware and throwing things out or donating. I haven't brought out my normal beer mug in about a year now, so I need to get to the box that has it in it so that I can be drinking it in a proper mug!
I was really happy with the selections of beer that I made this time around, it provided some entertainment when I was preparing dinner, to see if the thing I was drinking was going to be worthy of another round. So far they are all decent but definitely going with the honey ginger again for another round of enjoyment! I was unsure if I should buy a little more of that one or not, but I am planning on it now!
