Closeup to the bottle & History
The Belzebuth brand has a rich history that intertwines with the evolution of its brewery. The brewery was originally founded in 1899 by Henri Vandamme and Pierre Hovelaque and underwent several name changes and ownerships before becoming Les Brasseurs de Gayant. The name "Belzebuth" was chosen to reflect the beer's strong character, reminiscent of its high alcohol content and bold flavors. Introduced in 1997, Belzebuth was created to compete with other popular beer brands, aiming to capture the interest of younger drinkers with its potent profile. The recipe has been adjusted over time to make it slightly lighter, yet it remains a beer of formidable strength.
The beer
Belzebuth Rouge is a distinctive beer crafted by the brewery Les Brasseurs de Gayant in France. This beer stands out for its unique history, style, and brewing process.
Into the glass
A lot of foam
A red color and style of beer
Belzebuth Rouge, introduced in 2014, is a high-fermentation beer with a unique red color and fine pink foam that is not very persistent. Its aroma is dominated by citrus and cranberries, while the taste features citrus flavors and yeast. This description indicates that Belzebuth Rouge is likely categorized within the fruit beer or specialty beer segment, known for its distinctive use of flavors and colors
Get all of it
The original Belzebuth beer is known for its significant alcohol content, initially crafted at 15% but later adjusted to 13%, making it one of the world's highly alcoholic beers. The Belzebuth Rouge comes with a fair 8.5%. It is described as having a strong blonde color, with flavors and aromas of malt, caramel, and alcohol, and is best enjoyed at a temperature between 4°C and 6°C
Enjoy with me
The red color and the sweet taste are unusual but this give that beer something special

The Taste
This beer is different. Not only the red color but also the taste. It's sweet but not too sweet. I sipped myself through the beer and liked it more and more.
Beautiful fruity aroma, no head at all. The taste is sweet with no bitterness. The color is a dark copper color. Unfortunately, the beer is only available seasonally and may be less so because of shipping and import. Despite the sweet flavor, the ABV is high, off-setting the sweet appeal so that the drink might appeal only to the ladies. My first opportunity will be to return to market and horde a supply of entertainment and pleasure.
