"In de verzekering tegen de groten dorst", what means "In the insurance against the great thirst", the best beer bar in Belgium has been on the list of Ratebeer for years.
I don't know what the standard is to name a cafe or bar as the best, but it had to be visited.
The café is located on the church square of Eizeringen, a Flemish village. Only open on Sundays and Christian holidays from 10 am to 1.30 pm, also before, during and after a funeral. Make sure you get there early enough, because the church square is soon filled with the cars of the visitors who come from all over the world to pay a visit.
Busy day behind the counter...
A nice menu with beers, mostly geuzes that are stored in their cellar.
A drink also includes a snack, so a block of cheese should not be missing.
And we were certainly not alone during our visit. Next to us was a group of Italians, and we also noticed different nationalities.
When you visit Belgium, and you would like to taste a very tasty beer? Only one address.
