Hallo liebe Freunde des Bieres,
letzte Woche in unserem Herbsturlaub war es wieder soweit. Ich habe eine neue Biersorte verköstigt.
Wir waren in Ostfriesland an der schönen Nordsee an haben an diesem Tag eine Wattwanderung gemacht. Es war herrliches Wetter, also haben wir uns eine Picknickdecke und ein paar Snacks mit an den Strand gebracht. Mit dabei war eine Flasche Hemelinger spezial.
Das Hemelinger spezial wird bereits seit 1878 gebraut und ist ein untergäriges Schankbier mit 4,7 % Alkoholgehalt.
Es wurde lange Zeit außerhalb des Stadtteils Hemelingen von der Brauerei Haake Beck gebraut, die zu Becks & Co. gehört. Seit 2012 wird es im Hofbrauhaus Wolters in Braunschweig gebraut.
Trotzdem zählt es zu Bremens Bierspezialität und verspricht "süffig, mild und einfach gut sein". Für ein leichtes Bier am Nachmittag nach einer Wattwanderung also genau das Richtige ;)

last week during our fall vacation, it was that time again. I have tasted a new type of beer.
We were in East Frisia on the beautiful North Sea on that day made a mudflat hike. The weather was beautiful, so we brought a picnic blanket and some snacks with us to the beach. With us was a bottle of Hemelinger spezial.
Hemelinger spezial has been brewed since 1878 and is a bottom-fermented draft beer with 4.7% alcohol content.
For a long time it was brewed outside the Hemelingen district by the Haake Beck brewery, which belongs to Becks & Co. Since 2012, it has been brewed at Hofbrauhaus Wolters in Braunschweig.
Nevertheless, it is one of Bremen's beer specialties and promises to be "quaffable, mild and simply good." So for a light beer in the afternoon after a mudflat hike just right ;)
Das Watt war ziemlich kalt, aber total schön und ich liebe diese eigene Welt dort draußen. Man ist so fernab von Allem und spürt einfach nur die Natur.
Nachdem meine Füße irgendwann richtig kalt wurden, ging ich langsam zurück an den Grünstrand. Langsam ist dabei wortwörtlich zu nehmen, da das Watt recht schlickig und rutschig war und ich mich sehr bemühte, mich nicht langzulegen ;) Und ja, es ist mir geglückt :)
Nun freute ich mich richtig auf mein Bier. Ich muss sagen, dass mir Bier draußen an der frischen Luft eigentlich immer am Besten schmeckt.
The mudflats were quite cold, but totally beautiful and I love this own world out there. You are so far away from everything and just feel the nature.
After my feet became really cold at some point, I slowly went back to the green beach. Slow is to be taken literally, because the mudflats were quite muddy and slippery and I tried very hard not to lie down ;) And yes, I succeeded :)
Now I was really looking forward to my beer. I must say that I beer outside in the fresh air actually always tastes best.
Recht schlicht anmutend kommt es daher in seiner kleinen braunen Steini Flasche und seinem orangefarbenen Etikett.
Quite simple looking, it comes in its small brown Steini bottle and its orange label.
Da ich das Bier gerne vor der Watt Kulisse fotografieren wollte, habe ich es kurzerhand auf einem Mülleimer platziert. Natürlich habe ich mir dabei ein paar komische Blicke eingefangen, aber das kann ich mittlerweile gekonnt ausblenden ;)
Since I wanted to photograph the beer with pleasure in front of the Watt scenery, I have placed it without further ado on a garbage can. Of course, I have caught a few funny looks, but I am now able to skillfully ignore that ;)
FAZIT:
Das Hemelinger spezial hält, was es verspricht. Es ist sehr mild und leicht und man schmeckt eine ganz leichte Malzsüße heraus. Ein perfektes Bier für einen sonnigen Nachmittag in der Natur. Es ist bekömmlich und liegt nicht schwer im Bauch. Ich denke, man könnte gut ein paar davon trinken ;) Ok, es hebt sich nicht gerade durch
außergewöhnliche Aromen ab, aber für mich ist es genau richtig so.
Wenn ich es mal wieder irgendwo entdecke, werde ich mich sicherlich mit ein paar Flaschen eindecken.
CONCLUSION:
Hemelinger spezial delivers what it promises. It is very mild and light and you can taste a very slight malt sweetness. A perfect beer for a sunny afternoon in nature. It is digestible and is not heavy in the stomach. I think you could easily drink a few ;) Ok, it doesn't exactly stand out with
extraordinary flavors, but for me it is just right.
If I ever discover it again somewhere, I will certainly stock up on a few bottles.
