It has been a long time since I drunk last beer, all because I gain a beer belly and I have decided to fight it what is not easy. The consequence of this is to reduce alcohol consumption to the minimum necessary for human existence. Do not ask me what this minimum is 馃榿, because everyone has different one. In my case, I allow myself to have one beer a week. My exception was to drink one quality beer, but in fact I have to consume the beers from my stocks first 馃槙.
That was the reason why I choose Pilsvar Goralskie Krzepkie, an additional motivation to reach for that lager was the size of the bottle, with such a large rationing of alcohol the size is important 馃榾, and a half-litre bottle won competition over the 0,33 liters smaller capacity. So now is clear why I chose G贸ralskie Krzepkie.
The brewery in Grybow has a very long history, the first records date back to the beginning of the 19th century, since around 1830 it belonged to the Austrian baron Ferdinand Hosch. The history of industrial production starts with the Hungarian Franti拧ek Paschk, who started it in 1887. Even during the Second World War, despite much damage, beer production continued, albeit in modest quantities. At the specific order of the Germans, only two types of beer were produced, i.e. "Marcowe" 6掳 Blg, and this beer was sold exclusively to Poles and a special "Marcowe" 12掳 Blg, sold exclusively to German consumers. After the war the brewery was nationalized and incorporated into the structures of the Okocimskie Zak艂ady Piwowarskie in Okocim. The new era of the Browar Pilsweizer in Grybow starts in 2005, when it was bought by the Slovak owners Ivan and Andrej Chovanec.
As the name suggests, it is a beer with a strong character, like our Tatra Mountains, it lagers and acquires its taste qualities for at least 5 weeks on so-called "sun loungers". It is refined with a lot of malt, Polish hops and the purest submontane water. Like all our beers, it is brewed from selected raw materials with high quality standards.
I am definitely not a big fan of lagers, especially in this kind of performance. A golden colour with a perishable cream-white foam. Aroma of caramel, malt with a bit of grass. The taste of the beer is definitely too sweet, it is hard to find bitterness, but there is a lot of caramel with a bit of fruit acidity.
If you want to find out for yourself whether this beer is really so sweet, you should look for it in shops with Polish products. I bought this beer in a shop in Brussels.
