A few weeks ago, I had the chance to visit my good friend for the Hive Meetup Aachen #13. Not only did I attend the event, but I also got involved in the preparations for the two-day gathering. Given our proximity to the Belgian border, I couldn't resist the temptation to pick up some new beers to sample.
On what turned out to be the hottest day of the year today (yet), I opted for the Red-Fruit Beer from Belgium, known as "Biere des Amis." I had kept it chilled in the fridge, eagerly looking forward to a refreshing drink. From the first sip, I knew I had chosen wisely. The beer was incredibly delicious and a perfect antidote to the heat.
"Biere des Amis" is notable for its strong red fruit flavors, which I found exceptionally enjoyable. Despite its 5% alcohol content, the alcohol taste is barely detectable, making it a smooth and pleasant drink. The initial sip reminded me somewhat of a fruit wine spritzer, with its refreshing and slightly tangy taste.
This beer comes from Belgium, a country famous for its rich beer culture and brewing expertise. "Biere des Amis" is an excellent example of a Belgian fruit beer, distinguished by its vibrant red fruit notes that come from the use of various red fruits in the brewing process. With a perfect balance of 5% alcohol by volume, it provides a flavorful yet easy-to-drink experience that isn't overwhelming. To fully enjoy its refreshing qualities, it's best served well chilled.
In summary, "Biere des Amis" is a superb choice for anyone who appreciates a good fruit beer. Its delightful flavor, combined with the refreshing quality and subtle alcohol presence, makes it a standout option, especially on warm days. I highly recommend giving it a try if you find yourself near the Belgian border or if you come across it in your local beer shop.
