Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
As I have already mentioned in some of my previous posts, my Czech homeland boasts a number of impressive primacies when it comes to beer.
We are by far the biggest beer drinkers in the world (with almost 200 liters of beer per capita per year), we have the largest number of breweries per capita, we are one of the largest beer exporters in the world, we have some of the oldest breweries in the world etc. I am not really sure if we can be proud of all of these "achievements" but that´s the way it is - beer is our national drink and we just love it :)
I am quite a big fan of beer myself too but unlike many of my friends and fellow Czechs, I am not really a beer gourmet and I don´t even have my favorite brands - I like most Czech beers pretty much equally :D
Sometimes, however, my friends took me on what I think can only be described as a "beer expedition" as its main point is to visit little known microbreweries and pubs that offer craft beers and taste these "precious regional gems" :)
We took such a trip a few weeks ago so let me now show you some of the beers that we got to taste. We actually tasted many more brands that day but unfortunately, not all of them had their own branded mugs or mats so I only took photos of those that did.
Frankies Microbrewery, Breclav
Dubnak Microbrewery, Dubnany
Na Mlyne Microbrewery, Ratiskovice
Ogar Microbrewery, Kuncice Pod Ondrejnikem
I hope you enjoyed this little photo tour around Czech microbreweries. Actually, it was also during this trip that I got to taste the very special Bitcoin IPA that I already wrote about in this post.
If you are a beer fan yourself, let me also invite you to check out the great beer reviews by my friends and
and join the #BeerSaturday initiative by
