Hail to the Hive!
One of the nice things about spending the last couple of months down in Devon is the opportunity to find some lovely little watering holes and has certainly sniffed out a few.
We recently visited the Topsham Brewery Taproom in Exeter and it was a very pleasant surprise and I am left feeling a great desire to return. So far this place and Tuckers Maltings, which I have blogged about recently, have really grabbed me.
They are not only cools as f&^k old brewery buildings which ooze character and personality but the array of wonderful beverages on offer is mind boggling.
I had a bit of a hard time choozing what to drink but went for the 'Thaking things for Granite' as I am really loving my hazy unfiltered IPAs at the moment and boy oh boy did this not disappoint. Delicious. Refreshing. Moorish. mmmmm
I have to say I really liked the bar matts as well. Really funky artwork.
The whole bar had a really earthy yet funky vibe. With beers like this and such a great atmosphere I fancy a return visit very soon. With on his non alcoholic beer kick for a month it will be safe to drive there too. Arm twist next week me thinks 😉.
We decided to sit outside by the water as it was a glorious autumn day and it also gave me the chance to admire the old buildings exterior.
Such a lovely old building that is being kept alive, relevant and vibrant while still remaining true to its heritage.
Sitting outside in the autumn sun with a deliciously refreshing hazy IPA, how's that for a slice of fried gold?
