Hail to the Hive!
Well what to do on a grey, dreary, rainy miserable afternoon? Well There's a Beer Festival on so why not.
It had been on for 3 days with Saturday being the last day. So we paid our 5 quid entrance fee and bought some beer tokens and in we went. They give you a half pint beer mug and send you on your way.
At first glance it looked as though there was a huge amount of beers to choose from but ,alas, with it being the last day most were sold out. I identified an IPA handed over a beer token and the mug which they promptly filled with the beer of my choice.
Luckily there were still a few tasty IPAs on offer for me to choose from and set about getting a beer or 5 of his choice also.
Cheers!
We had originally thought of making more of a day of it and get some food there but despite the beer being quite tasty (well for me, one of was a bit rank and he chucked it away) the whole affair felt a little flat. Not alot of atmosphere and with there not being the full array of beers available we decided to grab an Indian Takeaway on the way home instead.
But not before we had used up ALL of our tokens! As you can see in the background SOLD OUT was on display everywhere.
But the location of the beer festival did offer up at least one more favourable thing..... as we left
We found ourselves opposite our favourite pub so......yup you guessed it
In we popped for a few more tasty beer beverages before heading home via the Indian Restaurant.
And no that's not chicken soup it's one of my fave hazy unfiltered deliciously refreshing IPA's called People Money Space Time by Verdant Brewing Company. I love it.
