Hello, beer lovers! 🍻
How are you? We are already in the happy month of December, the year is slowly coming to an end, without too much rush, of course, activities are calming down, and we have parties and celebrations ahead of us that will require quite a bit of effort.
Luckily, we have #beersaturday, already 441 in a row, to help us stay in beer shape. 😎
I have two German bottles in front of me, which I will gladly empty and share my thoughts with you.
First, the one with less alcohol.
Störtebeker Atlantik-Ale
Brewed by Störtebeker Braumanufaktur, Stralsund, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.1% ABV, IBU N/A. Pale Ale style.
What do the Master Brewers say?
Störtebeker Atlantik-Ale is a natural, top-fermented, light ale. Pilsner, wheat, and light specialty malts give it its straw-yellow color and light body. Warm fermentation with top-fermenting ale yeast creates the opulent foam and dry taste.
Cold-hopping with Cascade, Amarillo, and Citra varieties brings out a bouquet of lemon, grapefruit, and melon, along with a firm bitterness.
🍺
The beer is a clear yellow color, with average foam that quickly subsides. It has no particular aroma. It goes down smoothly, and I first notice a slight bitterness in my mouth, which becomes more pronounced towards the end of the sip, along with hints of bread and lemon.
The bitterness of the hops lingers in the aftertaste for quite some time.
Refreshing and drinkable! What I like most is the bitterness of the hops, which slowly builds and peaks in the aftertaste. It's clear that you've drunk something quite bitter. It's not available in local stores here, I got it in a Kalea Beer Box.
Before tasting the beer, we were at my mother-in-law's birthday party with the family. She was eighty years old. A lot of flowers and a raw cake.
Ettl Festbier
Brewed by Privatbrauerei Ettl, Teisnach, Bayern, Germany.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.6% ABV, IBU N/A. Festbier.
What do the Master Brewers say?
ETTL Festbier has its origins in the brewery's summer festival. For this occasion, the master brewer created a golden festive beer for the first time, which was immediately well received by guests. The enthusiastic response encouraged the brewery to enter this beer in the BeerTasting Community Award – and it promptly won an award. To this day, the Festbier is not a permanent part of the portfolio, but is brewed exclusively during the Festbier season.
🍺
The beer is golden, with a solid head that quickly dissipates. It has no particular aroma. It goes down smoothly, with a slight bitterness of hops developing in the mouth, accompanied by nuances of malt sweetness and a taste of fresh bread.
A subtle bitterness remains in the aftertaste.
Drinkable and fresh beer!
Nothing special stands out, but I have no complaints either. Very good for festival beer. This beer also came from Kalea Beer-Box, it is not available in local stores.
And what am I listening to when writing this and tasting beer? Nothing from Friday's #newtunes, after beer tasting I'm going to a live performance in a local club, and I'm preparing myself for the band.
Thank you for your attention.
