Ottakringer Brewery, founded in 1837, is one of the oldest independent breweries in Austria. It is located in the 16th district of Vienna. The brewery is known for its high-quality ingredients and traditional brewing methods, which have helped it become one of Austria's most popular breweries. They brew a variety of beers, including lagers, pilsners, and wheat beers, but the most popular is their Ottakringer Helles the "16er Blech", a traditional Viennese lager beer.
The brewery is also known for its commitment to sustainability, they have implemented various measures to reduce its ecological footprint, such as the use of renewable energy sources, recycling and reuse of resources, as well as an efficient waste management. They also have a visitors center which provides tours of the brewery where you can learn about the brewing process and the history of the brewery, and also taste some of their beers.
The 16er Blech cans, are named after the 16th district of Vienna where the brewery is located. The cans are large, holding about 500ml of beer, and are made of aluminium.

This is part of the #BeerSaturday challenge week 291
My personal Story with this beer is quite simple. On movie and commercial sets in Austria, there is a tradition. After the last shot of the day is done, we all get a so-called Drehschlussbier (End of shoot beer)
The 16er Blech was actually my first Drehschlussbier when I worked my first movie set in Vienna. And since then I have gotten one of these cans on many sets after the end of day. It is probably the most popular BEER in the film industry of Vienna.
This is #BeerSaturday week and I would like to invite to write a post in any language about beer with at least 3 pictures.
(I know you are busy but I would love to read your beer passion ;) )
