Brewer and Butcher is one of those unique gems for beer and meat lovers!
The 3 craft tasters they offer are the Helles, Marzen and Bock beers.
They brew Bavarian, German beers on site and you can dine and enjoy their unique beers between the kettles where they make it, or while watching the sun setting over the ocean.
Starting off was the Helles beer that is your lightest and most social beer at 5.2% ABV. Brewer & Butcher’s Helles is a pale golden lager, medium bodied and I found it had a very mild bitterness. It's very easy to drink and the floral aromas definitely made it the perfect start of the tasting!
Their Marzen beer was a golden lager with a full body and a moderate bitterness. This one was my favorite of the 3 tasters. It has a fruity aroma, but is a bit stronger at 6.4% ABV. I definitely went for a full draught afterwards of this beer, as while the sun was setting, with a succulent rack of Jack Daniels basted ribs, the combination of flavors absolutely complimented each other!
The last of the tasters was the Bock beer. The Bock beer was amber in color, it is full-bodied and malty with a fruity note. I did not find it overly bitter, but at 8.8% ABV, it definitely had the strongest kick of the 3!
Accompanying these craft beers is the butchery, where you can choose and request your steak how thick and well prepared you prefer it.
This is definitely a bucket list venue for anyone visiting Swakopmund, Namibia and loves their beer with a mouth-watering steak or rack of ribs!!!
