Hive Blog 24: Grateful for the HivePh help

Hello there, Hive Philippines 😊.

I am glad to let you know that our house is repaired already. My sister sent me photos and I will be glad to share where the help reach. It took me long in making a post about it because the carpenter scheduled is always full and the repair has only done just two days ago.

During the Typhoon'Odette', our roof was damaged. Being here on our community, makes me one of the beneficiary of the donation drive that the community was holding.

I have received hiveph cash donation on January 5, 2022 by Hive account@indayclara . I was so thankful that day because I didn't expect I was also chosen as a beneficiary. That money then used to cut the tree, for paying the chainsaw men as well as the labor for carrying the cut lumbers to our house. Some change goes to the nails and some were paid to the carpenter.

After the typhoon, rains were still pouring at least a week. My sisters were having a hard time cooking because the damaged roof was in the kitchen area. The comfort room roof was also taken by the wind and also at the terrace area. On the room area, it was partially damage. It was lucky to have a dry part where they can sleep without being wet.

My sister Angel has to make an improvised cooking space down the floor. Tatay has to be careful when walking so they didn't slide.

Finally the roof has been repaired just recently, the rain couldn't bother them anymore. People in my place were busy clearing out the messes and repairing houses. The cost of the materials gone high at the market but due to the importance of having a dry house and a safe place to live, people has to do something to stand again and do something to make life better after the damage. With the help of the people like our community here though you may not know me, the 3500 pesos was big for me and I am also touch and realize how being active here on hive has blessed me in such a way.
