When I was a kid riding on an aeroplane was one of my dreams. It's just that I was not born with a golden spoon which is why I had to work hard for my dreams to come true. As a person who belongs to a broken family, I strive hard to make a name and be able to reach every aspiration in life. The poverty which I had encountered never hinders me to aim higher then. With God's grace, all the things I've prayed for do come true.
To cut the story short, all of my hard work had paid off and of course, with the help of the generous people surrounding me, everything is possible. It's way back to the year 2016 when the moment has come - my first time riding on an aeroplane - Hooray! I am a bit nervous as to how it feels riding on it and at the same time very excited as well.
At the Mactan Airport...
I know they were bored waiting for the boarding time but deep inside for sure they were very thrilled too to travel going to Dubai. More so my grandmother's feelings, it's her first time as well travelling to such a very beautiful place. She's dreaming to visit there because her son works there for a long time ago.
Yay, everything is set already! By the way, my uncle just went home to fetch us. He filled a 5 days leave to have enough time for us to prepare everything that is needed. He knew that I don't have any experience regarding this matter which is why he did that for us to get there in Dubai.
OMG! This is it. At first, I wanted to scream because I can't believe that I am here inside the aeroplane riding on it. I simply explored the screen in front of me as to how to manipulate it. Curious mode be like.
My uncle was fun of taking pictures of us while waiting for the aeroplane to take off. The airline we chose to fly with was the Emirates, it is where my uncle is working until now. He was the one paying for our tickets and there was a discount because he is an employee. It was such a great opportunity then.
I'm sorry for my gesture there, we were about to take off at that time and I felt something strange which is why I shout but not that loud when the moment that the aeroplane was preparing to leave the ground. I know the feeling then as if I am riding on a Perris wheel in the carnaval. Take a look at my grandmother's hands I think she felt the same way too. Never mind my late grandfather because he was used to it already because he worked as a seaman way back then.
It's eating time! We were given a brochure for the menu about the food they will be serving that flight. We chose the food we like to eat then. I was amazed by the beauty that the flight attendant they have there. They are so pretty and tidy. I remembered that I have a dream to become one of them but yeah I know it's very expensive when you have that kind of degree which is why it's not possible then.
Before I fell asleep during this travel, I scroll through everything that was there on the screen because they have movies, etc. for the travellers to be entertained with. Then after an hour of watching it, my eyes were sleepy which is why I slept and the moment I woke up the food is ready to eat. Such an amazing experience I have there.
Hooray! We had a wonderful flight. We arrived at Dubai Airport safely. To God be the Glory!
God is so good that I was able to experience this one-of-a-kind trip I have in life. I am forever thankful for this wonderful opportunity that my uncle was given to me to be with them during this trip. At first, I was hesitant because of the process that I will be undergoing just to get permission from the Deped who will allow me to travel abroad despite its class days. Fortunately, without any hustle, the Deped granted me leave without pay during this moment. I was the happiest then.
