Hello Hivers 😊 Another day for a new blog! I hope everyone has a great day 😊
Another week has survived. It ended with a mass in the school joined and participated by Grade 6 teachers and students only because our grade level is the host for this month.
It’s already a norm in our school that there is always a once-a-month mass incorporated and engage with the grade level host. Every month has a different grade level host who is in charge of all the planning and designs of the activities that fall on that month with the consent of the school principals.
We held the mass in MCC which stands for Mini-Cultural Center.
The venue was quite small for the population of all grade six pupils. With God’s providence and grace, it was still a success.
Another usual Friday to hustle and bustle because I was a commuter for today. Let’s go!
First Ride
As I stepped out from the school gate, a pedestrian lane awaited and I got ready to cross to the opposite side. In front of the school is where jeepneys can make their stopover. Many passengers await jeepneys here going home after dismissal time. Thus, a crowd of passengers also alight here in going to school.
Here is the list of jeepneys route codes in Guadalupe:
06B - Guadalupe - Carbon
06C - Guadalupe – Carbon
06G - Guadalupe – Tabo-an
06H – Guadalupe – SM Cebu City
06A – Guadalupe – Pasil
The minimum fare today is 12 pesos or 0.70 USD.
I decided to take two rides since the 06H jeepney took too long to pass by the school and just a few. I first took 06B and stopped at DBP Osmeña, Boulevard.
Many parents and students were going home.
Second Ride
From there, I waited 12E for my second ride in going to SM Cebu City. I was able to catch in and ride comfortably since the jeep was not yet full of passengers.
I felt my stomach was starving and just remembered that I had my empanada that had not yet partaken. So, I consumed it while riding. Hehehe!
An empanada is a popular savory pastry in some parts of the Philippines. This pastry is also one of my favorites. It is filled with different ingredients such as ground meat, vegetable chunks (potatoes, carrots, chayote), and cheese. After, it is folded into a crescent shape. Empanadas are usually baked or fried until they have a golden, crispy crust. Believe me, it is best served when warm.
The congestion of vehicles made me take this photo. Oh no! Thrifted items! If only I could.
After a quarter of an hour of riding in a jeep, I was here in SM Cebu City. Hehehe! Usual!
Let’s Dine-In
Off to Ribshack in the Lower Ground.
It was my partner who introduced this grilling restaurant “Ribshack”. This is found in the Lower Ground of SM Cebu City. It was straightforward to locate because of its big and illuminated signs.
Ribshack is known for its affordable price with unlimited rice upon dining and the delicious taste of bay back ribs as well as the other grilled menus they offered. The restaurant is spacious and has a huge seating capacity. The ambiance of the area is cozy and comfortable in terms of the temperature.
I ordered their bestseller "spareribs" with a side dish atsara or pickled green papaya in English and a 12 oz of cucumber lemonade. I paid 160 pesos or 2.82 USD. The grilled spareribs were soft and the taste melted in my mouth. The cucumber lemonade was also refreshing.
Here is the list of menu options.
Look! I immediately asked for an additional 1 cup of rice. Hungry is real. Hahaha!
Burp! I was full, indeed. Thanks, G! I was ready to go.
Third Ride
And now, I was here in front of the Bayfront Hotel where the bus terminal is located. What a nice and beautiful hotel.
Dozens of passengers were queuing up to get on the buses to their destination. Finally, I was already on the bus and prepared to head back.
At last, I arrived at home. Another weekend to enjoy with my little son and family.
No matter how busy we are with our work, we are consistently seeking weekends, the best make time for our family.
That’s all for my blog today. My sincerest thanks for taking the time to read and support my blog, until next time. See you!
