Things have their way of happening.
You know how they say, we Filipinos love Christmas so much that we begin to celebrate it the very moment we turn the page of the calendar in months with suffixes “Ber", or ber months we'd say.
However, a little flashback on September 30, 2025 at one minute before the clock strikes 10:00 in the evening at Northern Cebu — a strong and destructive force of nature exercise it's power and leaves a devastating mark to every surface it threaded. The magnitude 6.9 earthquake was disastrous beyond measure, and it leaves a devastating mark not just in the infrastructures and properties of the people but most importantly in their heart and soul.
Who would've thought in a blink of an eye so many things could be taken away from you?
Our boarding house have been lonely for quite some time now, since the beginning of our online class set-up most of us just stayed home for fear of the aftershocks that is still being felt in the wholes of Bogo City.
So when I remember it, one thing I keep thinking was how are we going to celebrate this yuletide season, with everything going on around our world. But as I have said, things have there way of happening. A little tear shed here, a little prayer uttered there, and viola!
If everything would be taken away, I believe cheer and hope will stay. So this time, amidst the chaos and fear that is still taking a massive tool on everyone, I ask Ate Beth, our caretaker if we could set-up the Christmas tree that have been annually giving that “Christmas feels" in our boarding house.
Beyond excitement, we pulled out the dusted box in the closet and merrily arranged everything into pieces. While we play Christmas carols in the background, I could not help but feel a flush of warm gladness in my heart.
Look at this stunning photos of our vibrant and beautiful christmas tree. It isn't much, but it's light just look so alive, and the christmas balls were being put-up by this cute little fella who helps us.
Oh how cheerful! How merry!
Anniesty Yours!
