When I read the news about Binance having less than 90 days before its operation get blocked here in the Philippines, I became a bit anxious. Although I do not trade anymore there and I don't have any crypto sitting in the platform, I use Binance when I need to withdraw my earnings especially in case of emergency. I know how the platform works and I find it easier to navigate than using hive engine.
But anticipating that this could happen and Binance will eventually be unallowed to operate in the country, I need another option or another platform that I can use to withdraw my earnings. Thanks to @tpkidkai's post, I learned that withdrawing earnings can be done through Maya, an e-wallet also popular here in the country that allows trading and receiving crypto in their platform.
Following the steps tp shared, I navigated my way to hive-engine. At first, I was confused especifically on the swapping part where I had to convert hive to swap.hive and then from swap.hive to swap.doge. It was a challenge for me but thankfully I was successful.
I was not planning to withdraw all my earnings. I just thought that I need to learn and practice this method of withdrawing my earnings. I am aware that during the process of crypto transfers, one wrong move can cause a loss of your asset without the possibility of retrieving it so I need to be familiar with this method.
I followed through the steps of withdrawing from hive-engine to my maya wallet. My mind was fixed on using doge wallet since Tp said that fees are cheaper than other crypto and with that premise I did not consider using other crypto wallet to receive my converted hive earnings.
I only withdrew 3 hive enough to convert it to at least 10 doge since it's the minimum amount to withdraw.
I opened my maya wallet then clicked crypto and chose Doge. I clicked Receive to copy the wallet address but unfortunately, there was a problem.
My mind fixed with using Doge as as my receiving wallet, I was dissappointed that at the moment, I couldn't use my doge wallet in my Maya account. But I did not stop there. My anxious mind and eagerness to learn this process kept me thinking of another way. Then I remembered I have my Pdax account. Pdax is another crypto trading platform in the Philippines. I had this account along with Binance but I wasn't actively using it. Upon checking on it again, I was delighted to see that Doge is one of the crypto available for trading. I decided to use Doge wallet on my Pdax account instead of my Maya wallet just to see if I will be able to do it right and receive my earnings.
On the Pdax platform, I clicked Wallet and chose Doge.
As I opened Doge wallet, I clicked Deposit button.
I then copied the wallet address. I did not mind the Important notice in yellow color which was a crucial mistake I made when withdrawing my swap.doge from hive-engine.
I proceed with withdrawing from hive engine using Doge. After a few minutes, I did not receive dogecoins on my wallet. I waited for a few more minutes to an hour and that was when I realized, I lost my earnings. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. Though it was just a small amount but still, it was so dissapointing.
I contemplated on what I did wrong. I checked again my Pdax Doge wallet and my hive engine and realize that maybe it was the Network used that did not match. In hive engine, the networks are Etherium, ERC-20, BNB, BEP-20, Polygon (Matic) and Polygon ERC-20 while in my Doge Wallet, it says it will only receive Dogecpins using Doge network which is indicated in that IMPORTANT NOTICE that I ignored.
To confirm if my hypothesis was right, I withdrew another small amount of my earnings and this time I converted it to swap.matic I use the Polygon (Matic) wallet to receive it since it uses the Polygon network. And I was right, it was indeed the networks that did not match. I was able to receive my matic coins from hive engine.
I checked again my Doge wallet in my Maya account to see if they fixed the problem I encountered the last time. A notice popped out when I opened the Doge wallet. I just clicked continue. It's indicated there the Network which is Doge. I am not sure if using Doge in my Maya account to withdraw my earning from hive-engine will have the same fate using my Pdax account but one thing I am sure, I will not risk it. I will just use the other alt-coins using networks that match with the networks in hive-engine or find another way and hope Binance will continue to operate in the country.
I am not sure if I am the only one who isn't aware of this crucial part of the withdraw process but still sharing my experience. I might not be the only one.
