Yes, I am a proud provincial kid or what we call in our vernacular, "PROBINSYANO". I am now twenty-two and hope to reach a hundred. I am a 3rd year college student, taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Social Studies. Yes, you hear it right, I am social. I see my life aligned with this course since, I am more inclined with social issues, current events, and more especially politics. I will tell you a secret, just make sure no other people will know, just us, okay?
Ever since when I was a child I've always been dreaming of becoming the president of the Philippines. Sounds ambitious right? Former President Rodrigo Duterte said, he don't even dreamed of becoming president either. He added, only fools dreamed of becoming a president. That's the time when I starts questioning myself, do I really have to become president? Hahahah. Now, looking at my younger self, surely I will just laughed with all of those childhood delusional thoughts. Kidding aside, what's certain with my life choices and wants is public service.
I am currently a member of the Local Youth Development Council in our town and also currently the President of Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (Youth against Drugs and Terrorism) in our local community. Moreover, I also love writing, reading books and one thing, I am obsessed with museums.
Hoping someday, I will have the chance to visit the National Museum of the Philippines. So far, I have been to local museums in Cebu including the University of San Carlos Museum, I also got to know the history of the Parian Monumental and Sculptural Tableau, the house from the 1730 (Jesuit's House Museum), Casa Gorordo, Fort San Pedro which is a smaller version of Intramuros, a Spanish settlement during their colonization of Philippines, and the MalacaƱang of Cebu where former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo took her oath as the President of the Philippines. Moreover, expect some museum tour in my blogs. History, culture, and heritage really and will always amaze me, no wonder I took up social studies as my major.
To share with you about the career path I chose to be with, I am a social studies teacher in the making and I am now on my third year in a University. It is not that easy to retain with my course, especially that we are maintaining our grades in order to prove that we are worthy of our scholarship slots. Teaching never really had in my mind, but maybe I am destined to be a teacher. As they say, we can't stop what were commissioned for us. As I have reached my third year in college, I realized that I wouldn't come this far, if I am not destined for this. As the years count, I have learned to love teaching, especially social studies.
Furthermore, I am beyond blessed to be a government scholar, being able to enjoy a free higher education. The goal is to finish college, pass the board exam and to give back to my parents for all the sacrifices and hardship they invest with my education, because my parents were the number one reason why I always strive to be at my best at all times. But life is not always best for me, I failed so much in life.
I was rejected many times in military schools. Twice from the Philippine Military Academy, four times from the Philippine National Police Academy, and once from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy, due to medical reasons. Maybe military schools were not my grounds, but as long as we are breathing, everything is not yet over and I stand with my principle, "STOP WHEN YOU ARE DEAD". For the meantime I pursue teaching and if still able, will again try my luck with the career I first love doing.
For my future blogs, you are to expect life, career, travels and studies as my content. These things are the least I can contribute for HIVE. Hive is totally unfamiliar to me not until a friend, , suggest me this platform to express myself through blogs. I see that as an opportunity to work and socialize online.
