I have read somewhere here in hive that powering up can contribute to hive growth. Bigger hive power can increase your account reputation and voting value which are essential resources to consider when engaging into the blockchain and might also to the communities you are in. And these can help your account to grow, with regard to consistency of posting and engaging.
That's why I chose to power up the hive tokens I have earned from my very beginning of blogging instead of withdrawing my HBD into USD.
Staking Process
Since I staked all my HBD into my savings, I waited until 3 days having my balance unstaked before I was finally able to convert my HBD into HIVE. The conversion process also takes 3 days to be done so I waited another 3 days before I could power up my HIVE.
