Hello everyone, I hope you are doing fine and hope you will enjoy reading this story of mine.
There are many things that we do in life, Things that can inspire others to pursue what we dreamed of. Our dreams may be different from each other but we have one thing in common, to reach those dreams.
I love doing it!
Since I was in High school I am already exposed to children's feeding. I have been involved in Children's ministry since then. Even if there are many times I am at work I see to it that I support the feeding program. Time flies so fast God has given this Ministry.
Our first feeding.
First Feeding at our house
I still remember the first batch of children that we fed. There are about 50 and we do it every Saturday. They came to our house and since we have an open area they will sit on our terrace and some on the ground. We sing and tell them stories about life's lessons, Sometimes we play games and have some prizes. Waves of laughter will fill the air as all of them are enjoying each other's company.
Storytelling
Before the class begins we prepare the food ahead of time. We cooked pansit and lumpia together with hanging rice and juice.
Then we put it on the paper plate so if the class ends we directly give it to them.

Feeding time
After the class, we distributed the food to everyone. Faces that picture out that the long wait is over. In our community, there are a lot of indigent families. This is the reason why I choose to feed the children there. Some children are brought by their mothers to attend so their kids can eat. I interviewed one mother that they only eat once or twice a day. So when they hear that there is a feeding program she brings all her five children and after her children eat she can finish her child's food or bring it to their house.
The children enjoy their food, they eat anywhere because we have no tables for everybody. Some finished their food and some brought it home. Words cannot express how happy I am to see them full. A feeling of fulfillment, not because of me but because of God who blesses me.

It's been twelve years since we started a feeding program. Many communities have been fed, and many places we are planning to go. There are times when Life is tough for us as we go on this journey and there are times we pause for a while and then continue what we started. This is not about ministry, this is about touching lives in a small way.

The fruit of our labor
Days passed by it became months, years, and many years, Those children that we fed before were married already, some had jobs and some ended up being my working students pursuing to finish Education. Whenever we met they would call my name and give a sign of respect (mano). How fulfilling it is that the simple gesture of feeding them has an amazing impact on someone's life.
Insight
As the prices of commodities are rising nowadays there are many families who are in hunger. Yes, sometimes it is the parent's fault that they are in hunger but, it is not the children's fault that they go to bed hungry. Sad to say children are the victims of their parent's bad decisions. So if you have resources to help then do it. One day one of them will help feed the children just like you did, or Maybe those children you helped now will become our next president tomorrow, Who would have thought?
May my story inspire us to be aware of somebody's need, not only in our family but also in our community wherever we are. And this is one of my dreams, to touch lives and be a part of even in small ways. Thank you for your time reading. Have a great day!
