Graduation Day is the monumental occasion that marks the culmination of all hard work and sacrifices and dedication to all graduates. It is the day when we can bask our pride in our achievements to be surrounded by our loved ones and peer.
Despite all the hardships and challenges I encountered this week and the other week because of my husband's hospitalization, I still have reasons to be happy, smile, be thankful, and be grateful. One of these was the invitation of a Grand Graduation Rites for all Call Center Academy Scholars. The ceremony was done last May 4, 2023. This was held at San Remigio Sports Complex, San Remigio, Cebu at 10:00 AM. It was participated by 320 Scholars from the 4th District Of Cebu comprising the municipality of San Remigio, Medellin, Tabogon, Tabuelan, Tuburan, Daanbantayan, Borbon, and Bogo City. The event was attended by the various mayor and representatives from all municipalities in the 4th district, the TESDA provincial director, the office of the congresswoman, and the representative of Senator Bong Go.
It is not just a simple graduation but also a distribution of certificates of completion, cash allowances, and food packs, with free lunch and snacks. God is good since after my husband was discharged from the hospital, my pocket was already drained and empty. I spent almost 35,000.00 PHP on medicine, laboratory, and other expenses during his checkup and hospitalization. After he was discharged, the doctor prescribed him a lot of medicine for continuous medication and his maintenance. That's why, I still need a budget to purchase the prescribed medicine. The cash allowances given by TESDA were a great help to me.
About the Scholarship Grants
This program was initiated by TESDA and Call Center Academy as the training provider. This was realized through the efforts of Senator Bong Go, TESDA Personnel, and Congresswoman Janice Salimbangon. We started our schooling last October 2022. We've already finished the course and taken up the institutional assessment. We were taught that graduation was no longer necessary. We just waited for our Competency Assessment to be scheduled until we received an invitation.
The various courses taken up by each scholar were Contact Center Services, Event Management Services, Professional Development Management, Web page Designing, and Medical Billing Professional. Each course where having a different number of days completed. As a result, our cash allowances vary from each other. Each recipient was given cash allowances based on the number of days the training was completed.
The purpose of this program is to provide skills to all Filipino citizens who were interested to avail for them to qualify to apply in various firms or industries here and abroad. To equip the necessary skills needed to build or create future business. So to all scholars, we must use our skills appropriately. Either to apply for a job or to build our own business soon. The government spent a lot of budget on this endeavor so we made sure that the acquired skills we had will be useful and productive. As one of the lucky recipients who availed of the program, I must see to it that I can share my skills with my learners so that they can acquire the skills which are useful for their future careers.
