After experiencing a traumatic experience brought by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake some of us felt emotional burdens. These affect our person’s well-being and daily functioning. To address these conditions, a Stress Debriefing Seminar was conducted by a team of expert volunteers from Cebu City at Patio Hillary, Bogo City, Cebu, on January 4, 2026. This was sponsored by the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) as part of its mission to provide care and emotional support to the members of the BCBP Bogo Chapter. Despite the passage of time, we continue to experience aftershocks, which have contributed to ongoing stress and anxiety among many members.
The seminar was graced by our Regional President, Kuya Bing, and together with other chapter heads from various chapters in the Region. Despite the challenges brought by continuous rain, the participants eagerly attended the activity, showing their strong desire to heal and learn.
The session began with a prayer and a worship song, followed by the introduction of the resource speakers. The first topic discussed was "Managing Post-Trauma Symptoms: A Guide for Disaster Survivors." This session was truly significant for us as survivors of the earthquake, as it helped us understand our emotional responses and taught us practical ways to manage trauma and cope with the situation.
One of the most wonderful experiences during the seminar was the sharing of personal experiences. Having someone listen to our stories helped ease our stress and anxiety, affirming the idea that sharing is the beginning of healing. Above all, we were reminded that trusting God and surrendering everything to Him is the best way to find peace and comfort in the midst of uncertainty.
The activity concluded with the participants feeling renewed, enlightened, and uplifted, having begun to release their stress and worries. We, the BCBP Bogo Chapter members are truly grateful to our brilliant and dedicated facilitators and to everyone who contributed to the success of the said activity.
That's all for today. Thank you and God bless!!!
