A birthday is just another day when you go to work and people give you love. Age is just a state of mind, and you are as old as you think. You have to count your blessings and be happy." Abhishek Bachchan
Your life begins with your birth. It serves as a gateway to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to carry out your one-of-a-kind mission. A birthday is thus a remarkable event to be commemorated in the same way that a country recognizes and commemorates its creation. It is, however, much more than a gift-giving event. On the anniversary of a significant day, it is an opportunity to reflect on how successfully we are fulfilling our calling. It is time to celebrate the gift of life. A chance to reflect on your life. A birthday can teach us about the concept of rebirth as well. Remembering our birth is remembering a new beginning. We can always try again, regardless of how things went yesterday or last year. It is a time for rejuvenation, not only physically but also spiritually.
During our birthday, we usually gather our families, relatives, and friends and talk about something worthwhile. It is our way of expressing gratitude or act of kindness not because someone says so but because of our inner goodness. Your soul wishes to thank you for being born and alive and able to live in this world with a meaningful existence.
My eldest child celebrated his 15th birthday on the last 30th day of January. I delivered her birth last January 30, 2008, at Cebu Puericulture and Maternity Hospital in Cebu City. My husband was working out of town, and I was alone in my boarding house at the time, so, It was only the midwife assigned to a barangay where I temporarily lived who accompanied me to the City.
My eldest child was successfully born at 12:00 noon, just a few minutes after I arrived at the hospital. My mother was the first person who came to mind after giving birth to my eldest child. I realized how much my mother sacrificed by giving birth to me. "How awful were my mother for giving birth to me and the rest of my siblings! It's not easy to give birth to a child," I reflected on myself. "I'm a sorry mother for what I've done."
My children's birthdays were usually celebrated at home with her Niece, Nephews, Tita, Titos, Lola, and her Lolo. But this time, on my Eldest's 15th birthday, we decided to hold a family-only celebration. We just dined at our favorite restaurant, ordered a cake, and sang her Happy Birthday Song. I was hesitant to have this celebration at first, but because I'm very busy with our upcoming events and we don't have a budget, we focused on the agreed-upon plan. It's good that my eldest understands our situation. We ordered Bulalo, Calamares, Sotanghon Guisado, Grilled Chicken, Pork Chop, Shakes, and Lemonade for our drinks. My kids enjoyed eating together. They were all happy with the simple celebration of their sister. It is just simple but memorable for us. Their craving was satisfied and had a full stomachs.
That’s all for this Blog. Thank you for reading and to God be the Glory.
