“Love is a promise; love is a souvenir. Once given never forgotten, never let it disappear.”— John Lennon
Getting marriage is not just a decision but a commitment to join or unite, and binds each other, legally because of love and companionship. For me, the best time to settle down for marriage is when you are already mature. Mature in all aspects of life such as physical, emotional, mental, social, and financial. If you have all that ready, therefore, you are now ready to build a family. On the other hand, you marry because of love. Without Love your marriage journey is not healthy and productive.
Have a nice and wonderful day to all! How are you doing right now? I hope you all had a fruitful and productive day. A day full of blessings from above. At this moment, I would like to share with you the grandest wedding I’ve attended. This was the wedding vow of my former student who is now a licensed Engineer. I did not expect that he will invite me to one of the most significant days of his life. He was my former contestant in Webpage and Designing during the Division Technolympics Skills Competition and he was also my student in TLE since he was in his first year up to 4th. He was also my MAPEH and Food Management Services student in his fourth year in High School. Being the top I in our class from grade 1 up to the fourth year, he was an Aboitiz scholar and now he serves the company for almost 5 years.
After he graduated from high school, and I was also transferred to other schools, we haven’t meet anymore. It’s only through text messages and chat messages. He also contacted and informed me of whatever accomplishment he received. Even when applying for a job he always includes me as his reference. That's how he valued me as his former teacher and as his second parent. It’s our dream and happiness if our students will be successful in their life. That's why we always include our students in our prayers.
The Wedding Venue
The wedding was held at San Pedro Calungsod Chapel, SM Seaside Complex, SRP, Cebu City. They called it Chapel but it was wide and spacious. As I observed, the Chapel was strongly built and it seems very durable because of its design, very clean since it was well maintained. I loved how it was designed. It was painted white and airconditioned. Almost all doors have guards and utility. The comfort rooms were located on the first floor and it was very clean. According to the utility workers, the chapel venue cost 40 thousand pesos when it is airconditioned and 15 thousand pesos when it is not. My student’s wedding was set to airconditioned, therefore maybe the church cost 40 thousand. I can’t imagine how much the wedding cost.
The Ceremony
The ceremony started at 10:00 AM. Before the wedding, he approached us together with my co-teacher. He was very happy about our presence. Despite of being very far but we gave value to his invitation. We were also happy for him. I can see the happiness in his eyes at his wedding. After the wedding ceremony, we had a photo opportunity. After which, we proceed to the reception venue. The reception was held at SUMMIT HOTEL ROBINSONS GALLERIA, Cebu City. From the chapel, it took more or less 30 minutes to travel.
The Arrival of Hotel
When we arrived at the hotel it was exactly 12:30. We were taught that we can get inside the dinner area but we were not allowed to get in until the couple arrived. There were guest attendants too. Our names were already listed as to what table we were assigned. Snacks and drinks were served, and a photo booth. We enjoyed ourselves at the photobooth until we did not notice that it was already 1:45 and we haven’t taken our lunches yet. I felt very hungry waiting for the couple to arrive and for the organizer to let us come in. It was already 2:00 pm when we were at the reception area.
The Dining area
When we were at the dining area, we looked at our table number. Our table number was 8. The area was well decorated and elegant and it was so fantastic. Well decorated with a chandelier and lights. In a few minutes, the host started to talk. Then the entrance of the parents, principal sponsor, and entourage was done. The music plays lively while each of them dances towards the dance floor before they could set their respective table. Finally, the entrance of the couple. All guests stand to welcome the couple while giving a resounding applause. Before we lined up at the buffet table, there was a guessing game. The music plays and any representative from the table will answer the title of the music until all tables are lined up on the buffet Thank God it's dinner time. The foods were satisfying and were all full.
After the dinner was the first dance. The couple dance sweetly on the dance floor. The second music was the money dance or the traditional dance where the guest will pin money on the couple. I prepared mine so I pined the couple as my gift to the newlywed. The game continues but we need to depart the venue for we have another appointment to attend to. That was a marvelous experience for me and thankful to my student for remembering me and inviting me to his wedding. It was a great privilege and honor to be an of his guests. My warmest congratulations to the newlywed and to God be the highest glory.
That’s all for this blog. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog.
