Hello, everyone! I’m Maria Gleza Ceniza-Nabur. You can call me either Maria or Gleza. :)
In a nutshell, I’m an introvert, and I’ve been married for four years now, and I have two adorable babies - my baby girl is now two years old, and my baby boy is only five months old. I’m an online English teacher, and my hobbies are taking care of my family and doing household chores. Sounds boring, right?
Let me tell you more :)
Family Life
When I was still single, I used to be a dancer (university dance troupe member and in the church), and I loved hanging out with my close friends, going to parks and relaxing places, or simply eating ramyun or samgyupsal together.
But since I got married and have my own family, everything changed. My husband and I became more introverted. We both work from home, so we only go out for groceries, take a walk, or bring my toddler to the nearest playground. Life at home has never been more fun and fulfilling, even though it’s often messy. :)
My two babies are my treasures. Through them, I’m reminded every day that God loves us and that they are the proof of His miracles. I’m really grateful for their lives, though raising and taking care of them is really challenging, but it’s all worth it.
Life as an ESL Teacher
I’ve been an online English tutor for four years now. I started working at an ESL company, and now I have my own private students, as well as from my current company. My students are from Asian countries - Vietnam, China, and South Korea. Nowadays, most of my students are Chinese and South Koreans.
I’m grateful for this job because I get to do what I love (teaching English), help other people, and get paid for it. Through this job, I became more confident speaking English and discovered my interpersonal strengths, even as an introvert, because each class is one-on-one. I am like a friend to my students, and we enjoy sharing a variety of topics, learning vocabulary, practicing business English, and preparing for English exams.
It’s very fulfilling to know that through our classes, they become more confident or fluent in speaking English.
My Hobbies
Since I became a mom, my hobby has been doing household chores. I have a simple daily routine: take a nap, work a little, eat some more, look after my babies 24/7, and do household chores in my free time.
But if I’m not busy, I’d love to watch some movies. I like watching family, superhero, or animated movies. I also like some K-drama series or movies, but I love old animes the most, such as Hunter x Hunter, One Piece, and Sailor Moon.
Also, I used to be hamster mom. We had a lot of hamsters, some rabbits, some guinea pigs, and different kinds of fish from my husband’s pet store business before we got married. But now, we only have fish.
Hamsters are so cute and very sweet little animals. Once they get close to you, they’ll always ask for cuddles. They were my first babies before I got pregnant. I’d still love to have hammies again, but only a few.
By the way, I’m new here on Hive, and I just got onboarded by

. I’m grateful for this platform and the opportunity to share my personal stories and experiences, and also learn about other people’s from all walks of life. I’ll be posting more about my journey as a mom, some wonderful moments with my babies, our pets, and my life as an ESL teacher.
I hope that my stories will inspire or at least make you smile. :) Let’s support each other, and may we all be blessed!
