It is my second year working as a DEPED Teacher and my second year handling my class advisory which are TVL (Technical Vocational Livelihood) Home Economics Major in Housekeeping learners and this batch is also another hardworking one.
Welcome to our classroom! Welcome to Grade 12 Unity!
Since we did not have a class this afternoon due to some school programs, we decided to do a general cleaning in our classroom. Which also means, we turn on our television, connect it to the wifi and enjoy our much-requested music.
I don't know though, if it is just us, or you as well? The mood just becomes lighter and happier when cleaning and doing errands when we get to enjoy some good music, right?
We then started with the cleaning, and as Housekeeping majors, I really expect my learners to be good cleaners and neat ones since they major in Housekeeping. They are constantly lectured about how to keep homes, establishments, and classrooms clean.
First of all, they made sure that the floors are clean, they swept it and made sure it was spotless because after sweeping the floor, they will be adding floor wax to keep our classroom's floor clean and shiny.
There were a lot of them so they all worked in different assigned areas and there were also learners assigned to change the curtains.
As you can see, the window next to my teacher's table now has a clean, newly-changed curtains. It really gives a refreshing vibe not being able to see dirt and dust.
The best thing about our classroom is that it is located at the second floor of the building which back part has a lot of mango trees, therefore, during noon time and afternoon it tends to get really windy and it is indeed a relaxing feeling being able to feel the fresh breeze.
I love to see all these green trees and plants at the back of our building as it is a vitamins to my eyes and it relaxes me and gives me a sense of peace.
In my point of view here, I can see hardworking TVL HE Housekeeping learners doing their own assigned tasks in cleaning our classroom.
As their class adviser, I constantly remind them that our classroom is our second home, therefore they must treat it like their own homes also. It must always be kept clean and tiny because as the saying goes, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."" which I totally agree on.
I am happy that they get to do their tasks happily and not hearing any bad side comments. They are just all happy to help.
APPLYING RED FLOORWAX. Floorwax is of great help to make sure our floors are kept clean and dustless. Our school gives us free supplies of floorwax and also cleaning materials for our toilet that is why we really make use of it.
Any classroom is more conducive to learning when the surroundings is clean. I am happy that we get to keep it that way.
They wiped the dust from all our classroom's windows also. We have some glass cleaner and they poured it to some cloth and made sure to clean all our windows.
After they put some floorwax to our floors, they waited 20-30 minutes to have it all dried up. Then, they used the floor polisher to give it much shine and have it even more polished.
I tried to use the floor polisher but I really do not know how to use it. I am an English Major and I do not have any Housekeeping background but it's just I had no choice to accept handling a Housekeeping class advisory but I am definitely not complaining.
I handed it back to them since they are the onse more skillful since they are all NC II Holders of Housekeeping, they have learned how to use these equipments and they are ready to get into the real world of work.
As a class adviser, I couldn't be more proud indeed! To hardworking learners and achieving dreams in the near future! Ciao! ♡
