When and I went to Makati to attend the Art Fair Philippines 2023, we stayed at a hotel in the middle of the city - close to the event area. We usually expect something pricey especially when it's close to the Ayala area, but surprisingly we found a hotel that's cheaper than expected.
The Mini Suites at Eton Tower is a cheap option but in a safe area. We booked this mini double room which costed us $27 per night. In this area, hotels were usually $45 and up since the workplace, museums, big malls, and company headquarters are just a few minutes of walk away. We wanted to be as close as possible to the event area so we don't have to commute and so we won't be late when we go haha.
There are cheaper options within the city as well which is probably 15 minutes away from the event area (through commute) but most of them are in some party/ nightlife areas haha.
We were tired when we arrived since we didn't have sleep yet so we wanted to sleep soon. The room was tinier than the pics and that's how I realized why the name was Mini Suite hahaha. The size was no problem for us since we're tiny ladies and we're really not gonna spend a lot of time in the room anyway, so it was a pretty good deal!
The shower and toilet has glass partition but you really can't see through (except for the feet) so you'll still have privacy. This is good for couples and close friends, but I guess it will be quite awkward if you're staying with someone you just met haha cos there's a big wall of mirror in front of the sliding doors so you can a bit see from the reflection when you open them. XD
When we opened (or rolled?) the blinds, the view was pretty good that we had to take pics despite being tired af lol. It's such a nice big city vibe for the pics. :P
You can sit there while thinking of some random stuff about your life. I also didn't realize the window has a "door" but I'm not sure if we can open it lol.
It was tiny but not enough to make you feel squeezed. I guess the big mirror on the wall gave it an illusion that it was bigger than it is. The AC was ok although the tv wasn't working lol. The shower and everything was also good and really decent for a cheaper hotel in the middle of the city. It's cheaper compared to its location but it didn't feel cheap you know what I mean?
The only thing that probably sucked when the space is too small is that you will have an even smaller space if you lay your luggage on the floor.
Such view much wow
Another good thing about this is that just in the same building, on the first floor there's ramen place and it was REALLY GOOD. It's the best ramen place I've been tbh, and the best part is that it's also cheap!!
This tantanmen is just 265 pesos or almost $5 and it was really really good. T_T The broth was really flavorful, pork was soft, even the egg was cooked nicely and has a really good flavor on the outside. I miss this so much already!!
For a price like this, it's so so much better than the ones from big restaurant chains I've been that has an average price of 400 pesos or $7 per ramen. This is why you don't judge a place or product by its price. :P
